I thought Hatem was back for this game?

If he is then I would play -

    -----Ba------Cisse------

    -------Ben Arfa---------

    --Bigi---Tiote---Anita----

    Santon--Colo-Willo--Simpson

    ----------Krul---------------

If not then I'd play the same formation with Anita in Ben Arfa's position and Jonas in Anita's position.

I'm predicting a nervy game, as Wigan play canny football. It will all depend on who takes their chances.

    I'm going for 2-1.

Not going to be as easy as we once thought it would be, but I'll go along with a 2-1 to us.

I'm afraid to watch this game... Alan Pardew vs Roberto Martinez, mismatch.

    Lawro on the match

Newcastle will hope the extra couple of days before this game mean they might get a few players back to fitness, because they are really struggling with injuries at the moment.

Alan Pardew's side are on a really poor run of defeats too, having lost four in a row in the league, but they actually played well against Stoke on Wednesday night and went 1-0 up - before a lack of belief cost them.

Pardew is under a bit of pressure and one or two of his players need to take a look at themselves, because they are the same players who performed so well last season.

I would suggest they need a little bit of luck to get back on track, because they will not find things easy against Wigan, despite the Latics' inconsistency.

This is probably the best squad Roberto Martinez has had in his time at the DW Stadium. He has made some good signings and they showed against Manchester City that they can give anyone a game.

Newcastle do not have a great record at St James' Park so far this season but I think the crowd might be a big factor for them on Monday night.

    Prediction: 2-0

Tough game, not least because Wigan are so inconsistent and hard to predict. They've had a tough run and will view this now as a game to stop the rot. I think this one will go one of two ways. It'll either be high tempo from both teams or Wigan will be cute and let us huff and puff and try to draw the sting from us by sitting in and countering. Martinez knows the pressure is on Pardew and his players and I suspect he'll try and prey on that. I would.

For our part I think we have to try to get on top but in a more controlled way than of late at home. We've rushed everything and this hasn't helped us. People are pressing us high and we need to back ourselves to give and receive the ball again. We need to work them around and stop looking for the killer ball first time. Obviously an early goal would be great but the players have to be man enough to not panic if certain sections of the crowd get frustrated (they will, our support can be like that). Its no good a few individuals then trying to take it upon themselves to dig us out of ****, we have to stick together and work through it as a team.

I'm going for a nice boring 1-0 to us and that will suit me just fine!

Last year Wigan gave us a good game, and I've actually had to look up the score because in place of the numerical data all I can remember was DT pissing herself at how much of a midget Crusat is...

We won 1-0, thought it was about that, and I remember it being lucky too.

That result came at the height of our powers last season in the unbeaten run at the start. That being said, I can't see it being pleasant viewing at all this time round. If Wigan score first, the goose is cooked, eaten and defecated. That happens it'll be 2 or 3 to 0. If we score first, I can only see a 1-1 draw.

Doom and gloom is a bitch!

I can see us struggling. We will be lucky to bag a draw so I'm going 1-1

I do have a feeling Cisse will score, looked sharp against Stoke and back to his predatory self. Could have had a second goal but for a good save from their keeper. I'm going to go with my heart rather than my head...3-0 (Cisse 2 & OG).

Indeed we weren't alone in our disapproval.
