No, he's definitely right, it didn't make any sense. If Cattermole is out for some time, then Meyler is his obvious replacement and will be recalled, the fact that they have additional issues is completely irrelevant.
Tickler didn't say they needed meyler back as cattermoles replacement, he said they don't need meyler back FOR cattermole, as if they're some kind of lovers and cattermole won't recover without his bum chum by his side. But whichever way you look at it, it doesn't make sense. Also on the FC topic, surely if the rumours are correct and we agreed a deal for him last week, he'd already be here on emergency loan? It's a weird one, I can see it happening but at the same time I can't see it happening. There's an obvious link, but I'd have though if there was any interest from both parties, he'd be he already even if just on an emergency loan to get some match fitness.
Burnsey has just tweeted he's asked Steve Bruce about Fraizer Campbell. Answer to come on Blunderside. Don't know if he's just being a pratt or there is some news about to break, suspect the former knowing him. Might be worth listening in at 6 all the same.
He's still on the bench for Sunderland every game, until we get to January they can't replace him and they're not going to leave themselves without a back up striker.
And knowing our luck, he'll get 15 minutes on the pitch for them and knock in 2 goals and we'll miss out. PS I'm not normally glass half full :-D
Burnsy's news on Campbell, is that there is no news on Campbell. There's no deal in place at the moment, according to Brucey.
Why would either party deny or confirm a deal 5 weeks hence. There is so much that could happen and it would only upset those in the team now. 29th December maybe but no November.
Agreed. It's pretty much going to be speculation either for or against FC's return up until the very end of December.
Anyone that doesnt want fraizer campbell here is still just bitter about the situation when he signed for sunderland. They must be. He is a quality striker and would score goals for fun back in the championship and is just what we need
Absolutely, the fact is he scored the goals that took us up. Here's where I stick my head over the parapet . Okay I felt rejected and stood up at the time but thinking about it now have to say given the choice of signing for Steve Bruce or Phil Brown and Paul Duffen.......well I have to agree with him and admire his judgement of character. There I've said it. |Now duck down behind the parapet
Actually, he's NOT just what we need. What we really need is a big centre forward who is good in the air, can hold the ball up and wade in with a few goals.
Talk about living in the past. You both will want Deano back next to play alongside FC. Lets ask Folan as well and get the big 3 back. We are 4 years on down the line and we have better players here now than back in 2008/09. Yes it was a great season back then but please dont tell me that FC is the answer as he really is not. Well said and i totally agree with you. Now away from the fantasists who mention Darren Bent and kenwyn Jones, Chris Wood is just about spot on for what we need now. Whats happened to Darius Henderson by the way ? Whats his injury/story then this season ? And you are supposed to have brains ? Ok, i shall spell out what i said. Sunderland dont need to recall Meyler regardless of the Cattermole injury. The mackems needs go way beyond having Meyler in the team. Plus..... Anyone who has seen them this season will know what i mean. Even Fletchers goals have now dried up and as for Adam Johnson whats going on with him ?
I couldnt disagree more with those saying campbell isnt the type of player we need. What we need is a poacher, a guy who can make good runs in the box and create space for himself in the box. The number of times the ball flashed across the face of goal on tuesday night it was just begging for someone to be on the end of it, to be in the right place at the right time. Campbell is exactly that type of player. Jay simpson is very good with his back to goal, ok he isnt the tallest but he can control the ball and lay the ball off as well as any big tall striker could do in my opinion. Yes, a big, quick, strong goalscoring striker would be ideal but lets be serious, they are the same player that every team in the country is after but there just arent any realistic options! If kenwyne jones came here i guarantee all the fans would be on his back after two games because of his lack of work rate. What we lack is intelligent runs from the strikers, creating space for themselves and giving themselves a chance to get a decent strike on goal. Fraizer Campbell is exactly this type of player, he scored goals in the championship before, he will do it again now he is a much better player than he was back then
Tickler, just out of interest, do you live upside down? I only ask because you talk out your arse, and all that comes out your mouth is ****.
