We just don't learn. Again, if true, we have been making the same mistakes for years and years now. From Collymore to Carroll, the same damn mistakes.
There is a chance that Sturridge could go to someone like Liverpool who may give him more game time and he could turn into a brilliant striker. Personally I don't see it. He's a good player but his attitude and over confidence has stunted his chances and progression at Chelsea. Would I rather he go to a non rival, yes of course just in case he turns it round. But at the moment I'd be more bothered we'd be left even more light up front than we already are. I have higher hopes for Lukaku personally who I see as a better fit. Ultimately this deal will only happen if we have replacements lined up though, we are short up front as it is.
Is this your reporter mate? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2237107/Liverpool-want-Daniel-Sturridge-Tom-Ince.html
£6 mill for Ince?? What...the...**** Actually I'm amazed we didn't demand Blackpool put a clause in the contract guaranteeing we'd only buy him back for at least £25 million.
I wouldn't mind Sturridge because he's a player who can slot straight into the first team. Tom Ince is one for the future but he left because he wanted to play first team football so does that mean he'll slot straight into the first team if he signs? I presume he'll be rotated with Sterling. Even if we bring in these two, I would still want more. 2 players isn't enough, especially ones that are young like Sturridge and Ince. We need some experience and intelligence.
I think Fowler got the big chunk of those goals but he did score 26 in 61. I meant more on the team side of things. He caused loads of rifts, gave managers problems, and was a nail in teh coffin for Evans I think and Houllier to come in.
That was in his third (?) season. We got two very good years out of him first before near enough getting our money back!
Great talent. Never fulfilled it because he's a space cadet. Could we have bought better? Yeah, a lot better.
In terms of talent we couldn't have bought better IMO. He could use both feet, was good in air and had pace. His attitude was (and still is) the problem!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/nov/29/brendan-rodgers-liverpool-raheem-sterling Firstly, has anyone seen this Stefan de Vrij in action? Secondly, does this mean Coates isn't ready and is slowly getting edged to the exit or is it simply so he can have regular games and come back as a 3rd choice centre half at the end of the season when Carragher retires.
coates made too many errors in europa, that much is clear but the honest truth is he needs more games. can't see us buying a cb in january unless the guy is **** hot and cheap as hell re: collymore for 8.5mil a terrible decision as he'd a lot of form for attitude and frankly no matte rwhat we say baout him and fowler we won nohting and lost al lthe cash... sounds all to familiar
Well we signed Stanley Victor Collymore in '95 and Juve signed Zidane in '96 You sure we couldn't have bought better?
http://www.caughtoffside.com/2012/1...rise-january-bid-for-perfect-ligue-1-attacker Here's a new one for you scousers. Very skilful player, but no Premier League experience and I would be amazed if you sign him!
