NewsFlash..... Watford fc and previous owner have been charged by the FA for 'micconduct'. No idea as to what the implcation will be, but possible rocky times ahead me thinks..... http://www.watford.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=301352
Could be anything and conjecture not a good idea in legal terms. Lets wait and see what transpires but current regime should be clean and clear...
Can't we just put Bassini in some stocks in the town centre for a couple of months and throw rotten veg at him and let drunks p£ss on him. december will be cold and wet, that should make him suffer enough. Have to see how this one unfolds, another drama...
From the WFC Forums it looks like its related to the Danny Graham transfer and money possibly being kept off the books. Although the club is also being charged it appears our dear friend Baz is the main centre of attention. The hell which the Pozzo's seem to have saved us from has a place specially reserved for Mr Bassini or whatever he calls himself these days, probably inmate 68426.
as someone mentioned to me earlier, the Pozzos said there was going to be trouble, this has to be what they were referring to. I guess, if things go very badly, this could mean a points deduction...which would be crushing! i'm going to take a 'wait and see' stance...for at least a day, before i start worrying!
I can find no other evidence re a FA charge ?? I dont trust vital football.. . so can anyone supply other sources?

Points deductions and hefty fines are imposed if a club gains in anyway, it would seem that we have been well and truly screwed over to the tune of at least £1.6m and prob more . There is no surprise that this has now come to light after the publication of the accounts , indeed I hope it is Duxbury and the new regime that have called in the FL and authorities , it also wouldnt surprise me if we might have to pay gains tax or corp tax on this £1.6m we never recieved and that this was linked to the embargo in the summer ,and part of the complications in the negotiations of the take over. Baz has now been outed as a crook , thank god for the Pozzos and lets hope the authorities do not punish us for being screwed over.
let's hope, because that would be so completely unfair. It does beg the question..what punishment will the crook face? I hope it's a lengthy sentence, but i doubt it
I am not suggesting in any way, shape or form that anyone who has ever been connected with the club has ever acted unlawfully. Except for Marlon King. But a note of caution for those who think we might be on the edge of some sort of courtroom drama. Firstly, while there is an abundance of evidence to demonstrate immorality, so far nothing in the public domain demonstrates illegality. Secondly, in the event that such evidence does exist, entry into the public domain might make it inadmissable in court. So let's hope that we don't see it anytime soon. Thirdly, even if both of those cautionary notes prove unnecessary, history shows us that football club owners and chairmen almost never face justice for things relating to football. The only conviction I can remember in modern times is that of the guy who paid criminals to burn down Doncaster's old stadium.
This is very worrying. I can't remember the details but didn't Luton suffer hefty penalties because of the actions of a previous regime?
if Graham Taylor knew/suspected things weren't right, why do you suppose he didn't make it public? Thanks for that NNW, i was only grabbing at straws to be honest...i can't imagine he'd get any criminal punishment..as you say, football people seem not to be affected by the law...it's legal to trash a football club and send it to the dogs...
In the worst case scenario, we are in a position to swallow a 15 point deduction, and would have at least a fighting chance against a 30 point deduction.
Anything has got to be better than the prospect of going into the Premier League knowing that we are doomed before a ball has been kicked. Having a team good enough to win automatic promotion next season, only to lose out to a points deduction, would be almost as bad. I'm not saying that I want a points deduction, but what I definitely don't want is for this to drag on into next season, when we will hopefully have progressed from where we are now. If there's going to be pain, let's take it as soon as possible.
"The entire sport of football has moved against the English FA following the recent conduct of the organisation in regards to a number of high-profile incidents. The FA deemed it unnecessary to take action against Luis Suarez or Gareth Bale for their comical dives; Robert Huth for trampling on Suarez’s chest; Cheik Tiote for trampling over Tom Clerverley’s shin; Robin Van Persie for trying to assault Yohan Cabaye; and innumerable other indiscretions during the weekend’s Premier League fixtures. They did however move swiftly to punish Ashley Cole for an abusive tweet, despite them taking most of a year to get round to banning John Terry for being racist. A spokesperson for English football stated, “Given the video evidence, the decision to charge the FA was a simple one. “Their inability to do anything with any degree of competence is questionable, their recent efforts comparable to George Osborne’s control of the nation’s economy – and we all know how bad that is."
So really Bassini should be the one punished in the main whilst we get told off for having a doggy owner who the FL should have not let take over the club anyway?
Without dates of when these loans took place it is very difficult to make the whole thing tie together. What is clear I think is that the football club itself did not gain an advantage, although it is difficult to separate an owner who has taken sole charge from the club that he owns. It is claimed in the WO story that he lied to the FL about these deals that he was making, but his past record suggests that he was not the worlds best business man and maybe the FL should have been a little more pro-active in testing his assurances.
So the FL agree to a takeover and instigate their "fit and proper persons test" to the new owners as to their suitability and fail again! I would expect that WFC will receive a fine for not reporting the contracts with the finance company, although I wonder if the contracts were actually with Baz's consulting company - but one thing the club should do is not hand over The Lion to Baz. One thing to echo NNW's comments above - we should all refrain from making comments about Baz on here and on FB or twitter, there is a growing legal industry chasing people who make such comments.
