Getting a win against Liverpool would be a bonus but getting a win against Reading is massive. For that reason I'd rest Morgan against Liverpool to ensure he doesn't pick up a yellow and miss the Reading game. Bring in Davis to partner Cork and depending on any injuries or fitness problems keep the rest the same. We need our strongest team available for the Reading game as although they have looked poor in some games they will be confident of getting something at St.Marys after turning us over 3-1 last season. Thoughts on resting Morgan?
Sounds sensible in all honesty, JWP or Davis should able replacements - Im sure Fulham and Villa have turned over the likes of Liverpool, Utd etc with Davis in their midfield...
Twice? That's generous! Every player makes mistakes, but the ones he's making are elementary errors. He almost let a shot through him at QPR and he did yesterday, that's a concern. Goalkeepers make mistakes and many of them are forgivable: aerial problems, distribution, you expect them to occasionally make errors there, but saving shots is bread and butter stuff, especially if you have got yourself in position to save and you let the ball go through you. That's what concerns me most about him. He is getting the basics wrong.
People can slag of Gazza as much as they want, simple thing is we have no one better atm so deal with it.
There are all kinds of reasons he would play Gazzaniga despite not thinking that. And if we all agreed with everything Adkins thought this forum would be pretty dull!
He used to be really sub-standard for Liverpool when Benitez was manager - has he improved that much that you are worried about him ?
He has really improved in the last couple of seasons. Very very good player. Having said that he won't be match fit.
8/1 for a win, that is big odds. I would say Liverpool are made for us and have not got a settled team with players playing out of position. I would say a draw but with a really good chance of a win. If we can control Saurez which is a job for Yoshi and attack down the right Downing who has been playing left back then we can really suprise alot of people
Lucas is very underrated. On Gillette Soccer Saturday once, they were saying how Livepool had had the least amount of shots against them in the PL and that Lucas was the main reason for that.
Very interesting to see all the posts about Lucas. I have not seen much of him play for a long time, but i remember watching a few Liverpool games a couple of years ago and Lucas was so inept. It is good to hear that he has managed to up his form - in which case i hope that he is not selected on Saturday !
