To be fair to Tony F, the hub bub about the new stadium was at the same time that his Malaysian mates (backers?) bought Battersea Power Station. The publicity seems too much of a coincidence, albeit as you say premature. I would guess season ticket sales had a part to play as well.

    Anyway, great post again HoopyD.

QPR need to pick up points from their next few fixtures to avoid them getting cut off at the bottom. If they can get 4+ points from Villa and Wigan they may just pull it off.

I was hoping that Hughes would last another month as it would have been great to see us beat them at Loftus Road again with him in charge. I remember the atmosphere last year when the Pog scored early on in the game it was superb... Now Harry's there I’m not feeling quite so confident about that fixture.

Personally I hope they stay up. The best games are against your local rivals and as a fan they are the one you look forward to. Loftus Road is always a great ground to go to, I don’t think I’ve been to another ground where you are so close to the pitch.

I hope they stay up so we keep the QPR fixtures next year. I’d much rather an away day at QPR than at Middlesbrough, Hull or Leicester…

The reason I think QPR will go down is simple, there aren't three worst teams than them. Southampton have picked up some form, and have money to spend in January if needed, Norwich can grind out results and are also in a purple patch of form, MON will turn things around at Sunderland, Reading are gone in my opinion and won't be spending a lot in January, even if McDermott goes. That leaves Wigan and Villa, both of whom have enough quality in their side to stay up. Newcastle also won't get dragged in once they have players back (Cabaye, Ben Arfa etc)

I don't think QPR have a poor team. Granero, Cesar, Taraabt etc could play for top six sides, and had Harry been there from the start, you probably would have stayed up, but Hughes has done too much damage in my opinion.

I was thinking that too. I don't really fancy going there either!

Who else would think it wonderfully ironic if the Ambitious Mr H ended up back at Blackburn with the equally Ambitious Venky's?

A bottom half Championship team is a good place to start to try and rebuild a reputation.
