You might think this bias and you might tell me where to go. Its your board so that's your choice.

However, I don't know what your gripe with the ref was tonight. He gave you a goal when most would of given handball. Your players fouled our players more than ours fouled yours. The lino made some poor calls on throw ins and one offside which came to nothing. He also flagged Holt for offside once when I don't think he was so it evens out. Maybe you're feeling hard done by because of last week? Which admittedly was a poor refs performance against Newcastle.

Personally I thought he had a solid game and I got wound up because I thought he gave you some free-kicks just because your fans were moaning so much.

Anyway, onwards and upwards for both our clubs I think. Good game and I think a point was fair. You had more clear chances and I think we played better football without really creating.

Wasn't a handball, watch it again and then listen to the pundits (even though they are not worth their words.) Hit him on the arm a snap of a second after it glanced of a head, no time to react, then went backward, then hit Holt and bounced into Rickie's path. They are often given as handball but they aren't supposed to be by the rules.

That was about the only decision he got right all night.

You didn't play better football though. Better than I expected though. not watched Norwich and wrongly assumed it would be much more physical and aerial :) Pleasantly surprised, but I think we played the much prettier football, although a lot more HOOF clearances at times than normal.

You could hear the crowd shouting HOOF a lot at Norwich in the first half. lol

The 'your players fouled more than ours'?

Is that from the match stats.........which are made up from the ref decisions..........or from actually deciding which decisions were right or wrong.

I mentioned on another thread that there was one where Rickie got penalised for fouling the man in front of him, when it was one of your guys jumping on his back that pushed him into the man in front. An absolutely appaling error when he was 6 yards away.

That was one of many obviously incorrect decisions, but hey ho. The man's been under some stress, maybe he needs some recovery time.

I guess that's the difference between the yellow and red tinted specs then. I thought your football was fairly flat all evening and was expecting more considering how dynamic you looked against Newcastle. I didn't say it was a bad call just that it could easily have gone the other way. As for it being his only right decision....well we're going to have to disagree.

We have always been a footballing side. Because of how Holt looks people assume its our style of play. The pundits make the country think we play like that because they're lazy and don't bother to do research beyond "Grant Holt". Who is surprisingly technical himself although he didn't play too well tonight.

I just think we cancelled each other out, 2nd half we both looked tired as **** and that's why the level of football played went down.

I thought Clattenburg had a bad game in general, not particularly favouring either side with his decisions in general for most fouls etc., but considering the two biggest calls in the game were the handball leading to the goal, and Shaw's tackle at the end, both went in our favour and so don't think we can really complain at all. Personally I think the handball was a good call, your classic unavoidable ball-to-hand. The Shaw tackle I only saw twice on the stream and I think he got a good amount of the ball, but it was from behind and clumsy to say the least, so could easily and probably would have been given by many refs. His game overall was poor, but in terms of his decisions affecting the game, rightly or wrongly, they went in our favour.

And I thought both teams played good football, few decent runs, neat little passing etc., and then it would all break down and get sloppy in the final third, although we had many more clear-cut opportunities to create or score in and around the box that we didn't take. Norwich were a lot deeper and more rigid, which made it harder for us to play, whilst most of the time we were a lot more attacking and open giving Norwich much more room on the counter and so on.

It was a game desperately lacking in real attacking quality and intent from both teams, not really surprising given the circumstances of a midweek game where a point would be sufficient for both teams.

Thought he had a **** game. Didn't effect the result at all. He was just **** in general.

By the way. It wasn't a handball and if you think it was you have some reading of the rules to do. Holt was miles offside on that break as far as I'm concerned it was a very simply decision for the linesman. You also might not have got your free kick which you scored from. The ref didn't favour either team. You sound hard done by. You were extremely negative and certainly deserved nothing more than a draw.

Mark Clattenburg is a very poor ref indeed, why do some people say he his good?
I agree anyone can have an off day but the last 5/6 times I have seen him he has been awful.
But then again there isn't many good refs around at this time.

Ok Saints didn't dominate the game as they did against Swansea, QPR and Newcastle because Norwich didn't allow us to. You play a more direct way than we do, and I don't mean you are a long ball team you're not, you just pass quicker to the front players than we do, and you are on a good run which showed. However the ref and the other officials were a disgrace, and I thought Clattenburg was rubbish as he was in our other game at St Mary's where he officiated.

You don't have to keep censoring yourself. The site censors swearing for people who don't want to see it.

Didn't realise that was an option. Just went to settings and turned the filter off. Must have been set to no swearing by default. I've been typing in the actual words all the time and it's been auto censoring lol

just to say you said the referee shouldn't have gave the free kick that norwich got. if you look at the footage again for your free kick the norwich player was swinging his arms and got nowhere near the player and then shaw falls on the floor with no touch at all. the info say he pulled him back but if he did he would have fallen backwards not steped about 3-4 steps forward then fall down even though you can see on footage that he did not even touch him with his hands. so thats made clatternburg look like a clown

Think my opinion of the ref might have been clouded after the first minute when he didnt even award a foul for the eye gouging attempt by the Norwich player. Dont know who it was but it was a clear foul and left Rickie with a cut under his eye.

For the first time in my life I find myself agreeing with the Chelsea fans' opinion of Mark Clattenburg. He is absolutely ****ing useless.

Clyne's tackle wasn't a free kick. Always have found the non-deliberate handball a difficult concept. Understandable when a ball hits a player from a yard away and he has kept his hand down...no penalty. I would feel hard done by if a player touched a ball with an arm/hand and then scored, but if it isn't handball at one end it shouldn't be at the other. I suppose Clattenburg saw it as nondeliberate and would say that the fact that it led to a goal 2 touches later is the same as if it led to a goal 5 touches later. Depends what side you are on.

Clyne's tackle was a 100% foul. I can only imagine how much effing and jeffing your fans would have directed towards Clattenburg had he not given the decision to you had the shoe been on the other foot.

Did your keeper ever chuck out the ball? I can't remember the last time a keeper punted a ball up field so often.

His long kicks caused a few problems for your defence, so its no surprise.

You'd be wrong. Might have in real time, but afterwards would have said, 'Fair enough, he got the ball.'

Clattenburg lost the game within the first 20mins. Sorry but Lambert sandwich bewteen 2 Norwich players, one almost on top of him and Clattenburg gives it against Lambert! Ridiculous!

Our goal - The handball wasnt intentional so you can't give it. Your goal - A foul was commited before hand by a Norwich player that Clattenburg missed.

    Clattenburg is ****ing shocking ref.

Maybe I had red tinted glasses on but I thought Clattenburg made Atkinson look good after last night!
