Not in the normal sense of course, where they just give Fernando a great car, the man worked a miracle this year... But It's been announced that Ferrari are possibly about to lodge an appeal about an overtake under yellows that would give Alonso the WDC! It's not even for the Kobayashi or Senna incidents everyone has been talking about, but an overtake of a Toro Rosso under yellow flags! Thoughts? Can hardly call them bitter, if there's a possible infringement, the fans deserve to know the F1 world champion is a credible one!
I heard on the radio they have till tomorrow. Ferrari dont have to appeal:
Article 179b of the international sporting code says: "If, in events forming part of an FIA championship, a new element is discovered, whether or not the stewards of the meeting have already given a ruling, these stewards of the meeting or, failing this, those designated by the FIA must meet… summoning the party or parties concerned to hear any relevant explanations and to judge in the light of the facts and elements brought before them." It adds: "The period during which an appeal in review may be brought expires on 30 November of the year during which the decision that is liable to review has been handed down, if that decision is likely to have an effect on the result of a championship." That appears to give the FIA until Friday to resolve the situation one way or another.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20531638
“@f1silverarrow: @andrewbensonf1 Just watch this Bensonhttp://t.co/dZj6KFuU! Ferrari have got nothing! Green flag"@andrewbensonf1 12 hours ago Lol Silver got onto the BBC.
Yep and they may have evidence strong enough overturn the tile. Could be a devastating turn of events for Vettel but rules are rules.
The only thing is, why would they wait til the allowed date of November 30th to challenge? Surely if they had good evidence, they would have appealed as soon as they possibly could? Surely they can't have just found out about all the (potentially defined as) 'incidents' Seb was involved in during the race?
Just to note: This is being discussed in the Brazil GP chat thread http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/179852-Official-Brazilian-GP-Chat-and-Predictions/page47
No. No again. Really awesome. Repeating lies doesn't make them the truth anyways. Did you guys even bother to watch http://t.co/dZj6KFuU ?
I'm guessing they have reviewed the race tapes intensely. This can take some time but also I have read that it's Alonso pushing for this challenge so it may have been discussed before going public with their decision.
Why are people arguing about it?! Surely it's just one of those where an opinion is offered based on subjective criteria/interpretation, and then wait to see what the outcome is? Surely if I say Alonso would be very lucky to win the WDC through this, and Massa should have done the right thing and smashed Vettel out in the first place because I prefer FA to SV, that's something you can't argue against, just state your opposition to?
Well, it's Alonso/Tifosi fanboys vs Vettel fanboys. All it is, is the same arguments every post just presented in a new way to make it look like a different argument.
Just for the link in regard to the above posts. Basically it was for pointing out that noone cares to inform himself even when the info is there. @willbuxton And besides, an impeccable source on the inside of a haughty building in Paris confirmed green flag suggests there is no case to be answered
