Mark Lawrenson: Harry Redknapp has 50/50 chance of keeping QPR up HARRY REDKNAPP played a right blinder last week. The news that he was seriously considering the offer of a lucrative move to Ukraine was enough to spark Queens Park Rangers into action. After all, where was the logic in sacking your manager on a Friday morning before travelling to play Manchester United the following day? In replacing Mark Hughes with Harry, I believe QPR now have a 50-50 chance of staying up. Nothing more. Harry will take a few weeks to have a feel to see who really wants to play for him. I donât think the dressing room at QPR is a great place at the moment and there are too many players there who have come for just the money. But Harry has as good a chance of any of keeping them up. Particularly if he can get his players playing as well as he did last week. Read More http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/sport/sport-opinion/2012/11/29/99623-32325595/#ixzz2Db6hwPd6
Maybe he should ask himself why when he took over as defensive coach at Newcastle (under Keegan) they let in about 12 goals in 4 games? The bloke is a muppet who talks utter s###e and is a crap pundit.
Considering where we are at the moment, I think 50/50 are quite good odds. I would put the odds at something like 20/80.
Ellers, I think that's very harsh mate. I know the majority of pundits are clowns but I think Lawro is actually okay (I wish he'd just come out though!). Did you not see MOTD last Sat when he spent about 3-5 mins showing clips of our good play and giving us credit? What other pundit has ever done that for us! You seem to be angry that he said we've got a 50/50 chance. The rest of them would give us no hope at all. If you want to hate on someone, hate on Paul Merson. He's forever giving us stick!
It's great to see Merson and Nicholas on Sky. It's obvious that Charlie gets up Merson's nose. Boom boom.
good one. Actually Charlie Nicholas is always complementary about us. Swords im not angry about what he said, it's just i think he talks a load of old crap. Can you not remember before he joined newcastle as a Defensive coach he was bragging about 'what they should do' and 'what he could do'? He then joined and they lost like 4-0 then 3-0 (anyway they went to pot). He used to talk some much crap about teams and was forever getting things wrong. I am actually surprised the BBC let him do the predicitions? He is as right as CB? Anyway what did you mean by ? Are you saying he would prefer Tom Cruise than Penelope Cruz?
far to much to do to say 50/50. more like 20/80 and hope teams help you at the bottom....cant see it somehow...
Yes, I'd say so. I wouldn't rate our chances of staying up much higher than that and will revise the numbers pretty significantly again if we can't beat Villa on Saturday. It's great that we've got a manager who seems to inspire confidence in players and fans. But he's got a very hard job on his hands. Presumably the talks with Redknapp covered the scenario of an attempted promotion campaign next season.
Bit harsh, the real odds are about 3 to 4 on to be relegated. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/relegation
I can't see him fancying that - surely TF will have put a break clause in his contract for relegation - coz 'Arry isn't likely to put up with a cut in wages
