Mario Gotze. He and Reus have been sensational for Dortmund this season. Sorry Jack.

Well Goetze is more of an AM and Wilshere is a deeper lying box to box player.

I would rather have BOTH.(hard to say who's better - Wilshere has been out for a long time)

This one is hard to judge. Wilshere was starting to break-though his national and club sides and then got injured for a long time. He is now coming back from a long absence so will take some time to get back. Also add the fact that we've lost more of our key players, have new players bedding in and currently off some form. This will all be affecting his performance. Give Wilshere a largely injury free season this year and then we can judge more fairly.

Both are young so we won't see their true potential for the next few years.

I really hope that we bid for Gotze next summer. Wenger made a bid for him last year and it was turned down, so he is obviously interested in him. Gotze's contract will nearly be up in the summer coming and if the new Emirates deal brings in the cash it promises, we'll be in a really good position to sign him

Doubt it very much. He would be far outside Wenger's/board's range of player expenditure. We are very reluctant to pay over late 10m/20m for a player, and this is how much he would cost us at least. As i said before, we were very lucky to get Carzola for so cheap. We managed to get him well under his true value and under anyone's radar. No chance this would happen for a more publicised player of Goetze's standards. His most likely departure would be Bayern Munich.

Agree with most of this but considering how loyal gotze is I doubt he will go to another bundeliga side. La Liga would be my hunch. Gotze is a great player but with santi and eisfeld, Olsson coming through the ranks shouldn't be priority.

Not sure why he would want to come to Arsenal anyway

Despite the reality in which the German league is now equal in quality to Spain and England, it still makes less money and is somewhat less glamorous.

Players still feel that going to one of the other big Clubs is in fact a step up. This is why I think Goetze will move at some point and it will be to England or Spain.

There is no way he is coming to Arsenal. Why would he? We are nowhere near as good as his current team and if he is going to move, it will be to a better team and club, so basically the usual lot. (Barca,Madrid and so on)

Well the 'we would'nt spend that much on a player' argument doesnt work here because Dortmunds 'sporting director' confirmed they turned down a bid of over £20 Million from us last Summer.

So is it the wages then? I did hear Wenger talk about wages the other day, saying that it was a problem. But the big question is, why haven't the management forecasted this issue? They should have sorted the wage structure by now!

Just get rid of the players not featuring for gods sake and bring in the Arsenal academy boys in. Instead of Chamakh not playing, we would have someone like Aneke not playing. Same thing, cheaper, and at least they would get some game time if asked to come in.

    Jack all day.
He is an exceptional footballer who is still improving match fitness after a serious injury, he loves the club and would sweat blood for the shirt, you can't buy that.
There are of course a couple of clubs with no respect for the value of money who will make Dortmund an offer they can't refuse so pointless getting excited....
