    I've not trawled through all of this thread, but if there any jazz fans, the great jazz pianist Dave Brubeck has sadly passed away aged 91.
    Most well known for his hit 'Take 5'.

    RIP Dave Brubeck.

    A really big name in Jazz, was the reason a lot of people got hooked on it.

    The Hobbit is pretty good.

    The first hour or so is very slow, after that it's great. But I think the decision to make it into 3 movies was silly. So many unnecessary scenes in the movie.

    I think the 2nd one will be better.

    You can't just shove Bilbo out the door without some exposition. It was perfectly fine. You get a superb, memorable prologue; set-up in the Shire; and then we have the flashbacks to the battle of Azanulbizar, the Radagast stuff and the Troll scenes.
