I really hope it`s Boruc. He has the attitude for Anfield. The run Gazza`s had will do him good in future, but it`s time for Boruc to establish himself. And if he can`t, then now is the time to find out, before the window.
I'd go with Davis from what I've seen of the three (for Saints). His distribution is the best of the three. Davis won't make the errors Gazzaniga is making. If Boruc has looked better in training and all is forgiven from the Spurs game then play him considering his past experience and performance. It's fair to say Gazzaniga is out of chances now.
And the answer is very simple. The liklihood of a keeper needing to be changed is minimal. The most likely reason it could happen is a keeper being sent off which more often than not means a penalty. SKD is good at saving penalties so instantly would be first choice for the next passage of play.
SKD means a lot to the club and the fans and to me, his presence has a positive impact even on the bench whereas Boruc does not. And if there were an emergency situation where a GK sub was needed, I think that Davis slots in better as he understands the players and will give that extra bit. Don't get me wrong. I don't think Gazzaniga is at all ready, and Boruc if he is fit mentally and physically is by far the better keeper. I would not have a problem at all with Boruc starting the next game. But if Davis isn't starting, I like him on the bench more than either of the other two.
To me the goalie on bench should be second choice keeper and it's possible for a goalie to pick up an injury or be injured and Davis would have to play whole match if gazza had to have that happen to him yet poor guy got dropped after playing the top epl sides and hasnt played since
None of the three goalkeepers has really staked much of a claim to be our No.1, although Davis and in particular Boruc haven't had that much of a chance (in games). Now if the situation is the same in January, and we are looking to bring in another goalkeeper with perhaps Gazza going out on loan who do we bring in? We need a reliable keeper, maybe not spectacular but solid. Who would you like us to bring in? Friedel until the end of the season and then reassess the situation. Or do we splash the cash in january to bring in a more permanent solution?
You need to splash the cash in get in a decent goalkeeper if management don't think any 3 you have can do a job
Can't remember Davis doing anything wrong. Boruc certainly wasn't match fit and rushed in too quickly. We can't play Gazzaniga against Liverpool after how he played today.
Apart from falling backwards every time someone shot at the near post??? People moaned abut Paulo's risk kicks, well what about Kelv against United? Comedy show of kicking. Love SKD as a club man, but woefully inept at this level, proven early doors this season and from his time at Sunderland. Too small and flappy, poor kicking and can't defend his near post. If anyone deserves anther crack, it should be Boruc.
His distribution is comfortably better than the other two. Don't talk nonsense. Boruc has a small sample size and is perhaps unfair to judge. Gazzaniga is a worry whenever the ball is passed back to him and his distribution is all over the place
davis's distribution is very poor, was his worst attribute last season and was poor in his four games. It's good to see you have come round to Gazza not being good enough hopefully boruc will put in a good showing and convince you that he is streets ahead of Davis and Gazza. Boruc's kicked the ball straight to an opposition player in his first game but he was quite rusty and will hopefully boot it on saturday
