Finished 0-0, Magetts had a penalty saved. Thanks to tigerkj64 on Twitter for the updates(well worth a follow for City tweeters).
emerton was sat next to me. how could he be? update: it was bloody cold tonight. and there was me thinking as i saw andy marriot save the pen: "oh ****. extra time" thank goodness for crazy central league cup round robin made-up rules! in terms of a cairney/hobbs update. i d say they are another 90 - 180 minutes off. dawson update: he was certainly pissed off at being pushed into midfield when sam topliss came on near the end!
Cheers for that, but what I meant was how long did they play? Bruce seemed to suggest last night that if Hobbs got 90 minutes under his belt he'd be in contention for the first team soon.
both played full 90. there's a bit online in the Hull Daily Mail. Quite a good newsy story for a change actually. Certainly not just another 'off-the-spool' press agency piece. http://www.thisishullandeastriding....es-Hull-City/story-17455115-detail/story.html
Good that Daws played. But Oli needs to be paying in the reserves. Big bloke in his 30's he needs games not training to get his sharpness.
i think it's a tough call. is it better for the future of hull city to have players like Wilson, Dixon, and other promising juniors getting game time in the development squad, or relative 'one-off' features for fringe players who will very probably be gone at the end of the season, if not before? Personally, I'd sooner see the kids coming through and focus on academy investment.
