I want y'all to remember 4 words: 2 points per game. That's what we're on at the moment. And unbeaten in 4.
Good point for us, Southampton superior team. But should we have had pen? Wasn't 100% sure but looked like it could have been given.... Very pleased with that though the run carries on
Yeah, both teams were rather flat in the second half...guess it shouldn't be a shock with the first mid-week game of the year, but a disappointing point given our play for most of the first 45. On to Liverpool.
Well that was rubbish. Disappointing to see Gazzaniga throw another two points away, but we didn't really do enough to win that. Norwich penalty claim looked like Shaw was fouled and fell into Snodgrass. Didn't get a great view of it on the stream but I think it was the right call. Probably the only one of the night though, Clattenburg wasn't going to give us anything in that first half was he? Lambert nearly had his head taken off, but that's not a foul apparently.
Fair result in the end. I'll take a point against a decent Norwich side. Absolutely no ****ing point whatsoever slating Gazzaniga.
From what I saw (not all of it admittedly), probably a reasonably fair result, but one that favours us more than yourselves. Disappointed we weren't allowed the corner at the end though. I think it's going to be a long season for both of us, but I think we'll both be safe come June. In my opinion, QPR, Villa, Reading and Sunderland are probably the teams with the most to worry about. Good luck for the rest of the season, except at Carrow Road! Also nice to see we've maintained our figure of needing a point a game to make 40.
Liverpool have lost, but Suarez didn't get that booking we wanted. Still, they're 12th, and there's no reason we can't get something from that game.
Well from people saying Adkins was given 3/4 games to save his job, he's not done bad. 8 points from 12 and a clean sheet. Unbeaten in 4 games. Stick with it and carry on. Reading, Sunderland and Stoke to come before New Year. Fulham too.
Disappointing second half given the promise of the first but a point against a strong Norwich side unbeaten in 6 coming into this game is still something to be proud of. I'm interested to see how Nigel spins his decision not to make a tactical substitution until the 88th minute though. Really think our attack looked slightly stale towards the end of the second half and I would have liked to see Rodriguez brought on a lot earlier. Oh well, on to the next one!
The main thing is that we are unbeaten in four..we are on form compared to early in the campaign. There are very few points between us and several teams above us. I am beginning to think that we can give Liverpool a good game and get something at Anfield with Reading the next game. This league is still open...a couple of weeks ago I thought we would be cut adrift, but now feeling more hopeful.
Bollocks. Needed more than that tbh. Teams below us would be happy with that. Still bottom three, and catchable by Reading. Saying that, quite a few of these midweek games have been dull; and on the plus side we're unbeaten in four now. No yellow for Suarez.
Also, must say - Norwich look really solid. Hard game and tough decisions tactically. Couldn't get in behind them at all as they sit so deep. Mayuka would have been ineffective, and I couldn't see Guly or Rodriguez having much of an impact, minus his goal, RL wasn't up to much. Ah well, Anfield calls.
I couldn't really see that well on the stream I was watching, but it looked like a penalty to me, and Shaw was very lucky. He seemed to hack the player down and the ball then fell kindly to him. Otherwise though I thought Shaw was excellent defensively, hope his knock isn't too serious.
Hate to say I think we told you so. With our defence and our attack this was never going to be high scoring. Two soft, soft goals and the only piece of controversy was a half penalty shout on Snodgrass. Overall, we were simply appalling in the final third. Terrible crosses and terrible finishing. We really need a bit of luck because that twenty mins after half time when we were all over it we really needed to put away two chances. Credit to So'ton though, they looked dangerous and dominated the first half when we couldn't seem to make a pass. Overall I'd say draw was a fair and a good result for both teams. In particular, I think you made our defence look far, far more shaky than any other team in the last seven matches, and that has to be credit to the attack. Lallana was class and I was surprised/relieved to see Puncheon go off. Can't see you going down if you keep playing like that- you got us at a bad time of year
Just seen Gazza's Gaff, how long will it be before Nigel Gets bored of him costing results? he is now liable for costing us 4 points and and 3 clean sheets, surely Boruc and Kelvin must be in with a shout? Nigel said that they must win the jersey off Gazza but it seems as if Gazza is trying to tear it off his back himself.
