Every player should look knackered at the end of the game, they arent working hard enough if they have lots of energy left.
With shortages front and back the team pretty much picks itself in the most critical areas as it did under MH. I think any combo of our midfield battalion should be capable and Park may well return. The difference we are looking for under HR is attitude and most of all tactics. Getting those midfielders involved in counter attacks and actually being active in both penalty areas is the key IMO.
I agree with this Nuts and for that reason Harry might not want to make changes he don't need to, other than to give Cisse better support. Looks like Green will have to come in for Cesar, and if Diakite is suspended, Faurlin would be a good replacement for him. I think he'll want to use the same basic formation with M'bia protecting the back 4 which worked quite well. Perhaps he will go with Hoillet to try to better support Cisse, with Mackie Super Sub again. ------------------------Green----------------------- Bosingwa--------Nelsen-------- Hill-----------Traore -----------------------M'bia------------------------ --------------Granero---------Faurlin-------------- ------Hoillet-------------------------Adel---------- ---------------------Cisse-------------------------
It was much simpler in the championship when the team list could well have read: Paddy, Derry, Clint, Adel + 7. I'm glad I don't have to choose the team this week! (And it's not often I say that.)
What's the point chopping and changing a back four that's just kept a clean sheet? Harry's number one priority is to build confidence in the group, making unforced changes to the back four would only be counter productive imo.
------------------Green----------------- -----Mbia----Nelsen----Hill----Traore----- ------------------Derry------------------ -----------------Faurlin------------------ -----Dyer-------Taarabt-------Mackie---- ------------------Cisse------------------ Pretty much the same team from United. There was nothing wrong with the team put out that day and as long as Ferdinand/Bosingwa dont make appearances, it full of hardworkers.
Is Diakite suspended then? If so: -------------------Green------------------- Fabio----------Nelsen----Hill----------Traore ----------------M'Bia--Faurlin--------------- Mackie-----------Taarabt------------Hoilett -----------------Cisse---------------------
Just googled it and Diakite and Granero are apparently both on 4 yellows.....so I'd play Diakite in place of Faurlin in my side.
Can't argue with that Oz. Good balance, strength and energy. AAAAAGH makes a good point about necessary attitude. Fortunately 'Arry isn't known for entertaining under-motivated miseries. Question is, can we get the front three and Granero, M'bia even, up towards and into the box when there's the likelihood of an imminent cross? Schoolboy stuff that been conspicuous by its absence this term. FOOTNOTE: Got this sneaky feeling we ain't gonna see much more of Dyer this season. Could be wrong...
It's not a question it MUST be done if we want to score and I'm pretty sure Harru will want to score a goal or two
Sorry lover, but I have to disagree with you a bit there, I'm afraid. I'd go 4-3-3 with what you have, and put Hoilett up front. Cissé needs more support around him, and by shoving him up there like that all alone is probably not going to work any more, and I'd rather see us running around in midfield more and movement is what we need, so we can create passing lanes and through balls for each other, not anybody in the front 6 acting like they're stuck in their positions but working hard just to get shots on goal constantly. I think we saw enough from Cissé in a couple matches where he made some nice crosses, and he needs to play more like Ibrahimovic does for PSG, in that sort of role, and be content to help out the team, and not us having to rely on him to keep shooting but helping each other up there by the box. That would help free up Granero as well, to sit in behind to make better passes and get shots on goal himself at the top of the area. Then Mackie would fit in with support on either wing, and with Hoilett and Tarbs causing problems at the corners we have got a serious chance. But Mbia needs to go back to playing right back and Dyer in midfield. But if Dyer has to start on the bench, I would be very surprised again, but Arry must see something in Park and I can't argue with that cos I like Park myself even though there are detractors out there - Park is better against a team like Villa, so that he can cover most of the pitch as he always does. They all just need to up their tempo like we have seen them capable of doing.
