I just went to personalise my new Newcastle top for next season and when I was looking through the current players I realised that Routledge wasn't on the list. Surely he can't have just been missed off? This must mean he has gone already which I think is a shame, he would be a good squad player, but hopefully we will sign Seb Larsson to replace him. Thoughts?
yeh i liked him, i just don't think he wanted to be a squad player are you sure it's not just because he's on lone and not on the list for some reason
It will be because he is out on loan. Nothing official as yet. The website is last to know everything so unless news has been released then I doubt the website would change anything. I am not too sure on Seb Larsson, back up then maybe but I want Barton to remain on the right.
I can't see Fat mike doing that Hatem, that costs money! It will be a shame to lose him because he seems a very decent lad and could be used as a squad player (3rd choice right wing), however he just isn't good enough at this level.
We would never cancel his contract, that would be nonsensical, why pay him a few hundred thousand when we could receive a million for him? Ashley is a lot of things but not a money waster.
he'd have done a better job playing up front than shola and lover his pace might have unsettled some defenders as well
I heard a rumour that the deal was if they got promoted and they suffered a transfer embargo wed cancel his contract and get a player for free in the summer. Just a rumour tho
Totally agree with that, I really wish we'd tried that because he seems to have more of a goal scorers touch than a winger.
The contract being terminated story came about cos Talksport were reportinging it, but the club never confirmed nor denied it. When Pardew was on TotalSport last month(I think) he said no deal was in place with QPR to make the deal perm, and as far as he knew Routledge would be back in the summer.
His final ball let him down when he played for us. It was a huge mistake to loan him out when our squad was threadbare. Wish him all the best with QPR
