Reading various reports like this one from Sambafoot, that Arry has said Cesar has a torn groin unfortunately.

New Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has praised goalkeeper Julio Cesar after beginning his reign with a 0-0 draw at Sunderland, where the Brazilian was substituted at half-time with an injury.

Julio Cesar, 33, has impressed greatly in his first few months in West London, almost single-handedly earning points for his new side who have yet to record a win.

Largely untested against Sunderland, bar one fine low save to deny Scottish striker Steven Fletcher, Cesar looks set to spend some time on the sidelines with a torn groin in the coming weeks.

“It’s a torn groin,” Redknapp confirmed post-match. “He [Cesar] is a good pro. I’ve been impressed with him as a fella and you can see why he’s done what he has in the game.

“Rob [Green] came on and made a good save, so I’m lucky to have two good keepers.”

Redknapp, though, will be largely pleased with what he saw from his side on a terrible evening at the Stadium of Light, with Rangers enjoying the better of the match for long-periods.

Shame for Juliio who has been top draw thus far. But based on last night performace Green is more than capable of stepping up.

I think part of Green's poor start was that he was playing with an unsettled defence which just adds to the pressure where as last night our defence looked comfortable, by no means the finished article but must give a goalkeeper a lift.

He did well last night - that one save was very, very good. But his previous don't give me confidence.

That maybe so but did you notice Harry tapping up Danny Rose at the end I'd much rather he was our left back has two feet and can tackle, would love to get him for the second half of the season on loan.

I was wondering why Nelsen (?) took a goal kick late in the first half, afraid that Cesar had injured himself but hoping he could come back for 2nd half. Have to admit got a bit anxious when Green walked on the pitch, but he did his job really good, looked like he was really confident and made a great save to deny Fletcher.
