If MON does go, and I don't think he will be sacked, so he will need to walk. Who are the alternatives and which would people go for?

    Possibilities:

    Martinez
    Di Matteo
    Solskjaer
    Di Canio
    Curbishley
    Gary Neville
    Klinsmann
    Bob Bradley
    Poyet
    Shearer
    Sven Goran Erikson

I would be happy with 3 or 4 of these, anymore people would add?

Only manager who I would want if MoN was to go would be Moyes.

You reckon he would take the job? He refused to put on a Sunderland shirt for charity once, so I doubt he'd manage Sunderland.

Tash, do you even think 1 Sunderland fan would accept him as manager?

    It was tongue in cheek.

Martinez- He wouldn't want the job
Di Matteo- He could do better tbh, he is a champions league winner aafter all.
    Solskjaer- maybe
Di Canio- He would rattle a few cages, I want him in the prem for the comedy value.
    Curbishley- No better than MON
Gary Neville- has a cushy number with Sky and England, don't think he would want it right now.
Klinsmann- Does he have a job atm? Good manager.
Bob Bradley- seems to prefer international management
Poyet- He is building a good side at Brighton, don't know if he would take the job or not.
    Shearer- lol
Sven Goran Erikson- He would love the chance for another pay day but I think he is finished as a manager, he hasn't been successful anywhere in many years.

im not advocating a change of manager but if we did i think we might have to promote frpm within eg kevin ball although i dont know if that would work, dont think short would trust anybody from now on and i cant say i blame him cos he has lived up to his part and it just seems to have gotten worse, i honestly dont know what the answer is.

    Solskjaer
    Marco Van Basten

Neither at big clubs so may have a chance to get them

Martinez but he hasnt really done much at Wigan, mind you not sure the special one could do much at Wigan.
Di Mateo, he won the CL yes but I just dont rate him as a manager im afraid.

John Robertson, then get MON back as his number 2 for 6 months, then swap them around again.

Steve Mclaren. Heart attack for most fans, but I still think he is a good club manager and the England job came far too early for him, + Capello didnt do that much better with virtually the same players.

    The Special One/Guadiola

Wishful thinking, just wont come at all, and even if they did, they have never done anything like us before, they have always had a top side so they may get sick after 3 weeks and leave anyway.

I'd like Di Canio for the entertainment factor, but I could see us getting a hell of a lot of red cards, especially with Catts in the team. I doubt Martinez would leave Wigan for us, he'll be waiting for a big job in Spain. Moyes would never come here in a billion years, and if he did, I'd question whether he was sane enough to be our manager. Gus Poyet could be a good shout, but again he might want to carry on the job he's doing at Brighton.

Though I seem to be in a minority, I'm actually prepared to give O'Neill more time for now.

Don't think you'd get many of those except Di Matteo, Poyet, Curbishley, Eriksson or Bradley. Di Matteo comfortably the safest bet of those. Neville I think will make a cracking manager because of his understanding of the game but it would be a massive risk and he seems to enjoy his Sky and England stuff. Solksjaer turned down Villa so that would seem unlikely, Moyes no hope, Martinez highly unlikely having turned down Liverpool and connection with Wigan, Klinsmann doubtful.

Shearer - just for NMG I take it
