Way too negative ISTPLT What about Quinn, Chester, Stockdale, even McShane, a lot of positives and yet again we showed we are better then a promotion rival, Meyler will get better as well, and the goals will come, someones going to get done by us soon enough, keep the faith.
I agree, but don't you think its about time we actually did give someone a beating? We've been saying it for two years now and it still hasn't happened, we've outplayed loads of the top teams and never beaten them, we've hung around the top of the table flirting with a promotion push but we haven't really took it by the scruff of the neck have we? The position we're in is no different to 12 months ago, we need to actually go on a proper run and get some consescutive wins going like Palace did, like Southampton did last year. We always say "Oh well, we move on from here and there's a long way to go yet." But when does the time come that we actually have to go and make our move? We had 2,500 new fans at the ground the last two games and they haven't seen us score. Why the **** would they want to come back? We've got the players to win this league, but it obviously isn't going to happen and we're going to underachieve like last year. We might well make the playoffs, but what's the point in that if we can't beat the other good sides no matter how well we play?
We were ****ing great tonight, it's really irritating that we didn't score, but I've not seen another Championship team look as good on the ball as we did this evening. The phrase 'we battered them 0-0' has never been more appropriate.
Exactly. I think if Simmo had started tonight he'd have been on the end of one of those umpteen crosses we put into the box. I was really disappointed with Palace, I would say they are one of the worst teams I've seen at the KC this season - yet they left with a point.
To be honest, I can see Palace falling away, they didn't look any great shakes tonight and teams will end up working them out. Zaha was average albeit a pain to mark and that Bolasie is bollocks. We did miss some real sitters, but they will come. The changes he made were the right ones, it looked more like a 4-5-1 to me: Stockie McShane --- Chester ---Bruce -- Brady Elmo -- Koren--- Meyler -- Evans -- Quinn Aluko It worked perfectly, it stifled their midfield creativity and with Evans and Meyler breaking up the play, Palace couldn't get anything going. Their chances were really down to our mistakes, but Stockdale was very rarely troubled, he must've had a cold night just standing there. I was surprised he took off Koren and not Meyler, he looked like he was going to sick up a lung after 60 mins, which led to him becoming a bit ineffective, but he got back in the game and finished well. McShane was outstanding today, he had his weekly mistake but he was underneath pretty much every ball they lumped forward and he seems to have a great connection with Bruce. Quinn, Brady, McShane, Evans, Bruce and Dudgeon. FCEK - The Irish Connection.
I thought the ref had a blinding game (a couple of dodgy decisions, but they all do) he kept the game flowing and didn't blow for every little knock over
It was definitely a 3-2-5. McShane played on the left of the 3 and Koren was definitely played as a striker.
Thought Meyler looked good in a more advanced role and credit to Evans who I thought was very good. I like the look of Brady at left wing back and I think he will improve as he gets more 1st team experience there. Would have liked to have seen a striker substitution earlier though
Spernoi's save from Mclean was brilliant. A great performance, and fantastic defensive display. Saturday will be interesting, I'd like to see Big Nick start in the next home game.
Speroni is a very good and experienced keeper at this level but his save was matched if not beaten by Stockdale at the end. Saturday will be interesting in that its hard to drop anyone after last night but at the same time if we are putting crosses in the box, we need a striker on the pitch.
