Sod it, just realised Lazio v Udinese is on ESPN, so have given up and turned over. That Di Natale that took us apart in pre-season is playing, hopefully he'll do something interesting to keep me awake!
Indeed. Although I do find it strange why, if the match really is that boring, anyone is complaining yet sticking with it. Just turn the channel over?
Just in case nobody has brought this up before [I'm not running through the whole thread], Deano has scored for Brighton. I can't help it, I want Hammond back at Saints. Natural leader, even as back up.
Ah...my decision has been rewarded. Dangerous Klose run, draws free kick, Hernanes takes a stunning free kick and celebrates with a twisting backflip. I feel entertained for the night!
I would be happy to have Deano here, but don't see him ahead of Schneiderlin, Cork, Davis and JWP in the pecking order, so he wouldn't get much football without a real injury crisis at which stage we'd probably recall him anyway. Probably best for him to showcase his ability in the Championship once again so he can get a nice move somewhere in the Summer, to a team with promotion possibilities without the money to replace him if they did make the step-up. His situation is similar to Kelvin's to be honest, except at the start of the summer Kelvin came in as the no.1, whilst I think Dean knew his opportunities would be very limited. I do think we have been smart with Hammond and Sharp though, means that if we were to get relegated, we have a ready-made Championship striker and centre-mid, meaning even if we did lose Gaston, Lallana, Schneiderlin etc. (The thought of which is horrifying), we would still have the spine of a good promotion-level side. Rather than if we sold them and then made the drop, we would have even more holes to patch.
OK, but I'm not with this. Dexter Blackstock has scored for Nottm Forest. I was going to blow it off, as it wasn't Billy Sharp, but Dexter's an old boy, so he gets a mention.
Di Natale and Hernanes are fantastic players. Klose's not bad either haha. I would probably switch over too, but I like to keep an eye on our rivals, even if it's not as entertaining!
This is so boring that I've made good progress with my project this evening* *actually just stared at it for ages
It's totally sentimental of me, BP. He's been with us since Lge One, and he was 100% in every game. He celebrated the promotion to the PL and it's unfortunate he has hit his ceiling. In another team he might still figure.
Well if we qualify for the Europa League, either through an incredible surge up the division or through fair play, we'll have Hammond, Martin and Sharp back for the midweek fixtures. We can dream.
If he didn't play for one of our immediate rivals i'd really want Le Fondre to be doing well, as it is he can carry on missing!
I agree with you, I as well would like to keep some of the players that have helped us to where we are now. Still think Sharp could have done a job here but we have to keep improving. To improve we will have to lose some of the players we have grown to like, just part of the game I'm afraid.
