If no decision is reached by the time we kick off against Leeds on saturday, then no points can be deducted. In other words, we're up
Nothing's certain at the moment super. The journos tweeting today believe that to be the case but stress it's not gospel. They also gave the reason for the delay yesterday. The inquiry had departed from the programme leaving bundles of unheard evidence. Sky News earlier reported the FA as suggesting the decision would come as soon after 4pm tomorrow as possible. The inference being extensions into the weekend if necessary.
It's not so much the delay that has convinced me, it's the announcement re P Offs starting on time, there can only be one reason for that. No 14 day appeal on decision! Can anyone think of another?
Mac tweets with daxvondrac (darryl still) suggested a PA story was not a story, it was pulled within two mins of being put up... didn't say whether it was same one about FL decision to stick to play-off semi dates. As for plea bargaining. It's an American practice. Doubt it has permeated into UK legal structures unless FA regs allow it.
I can't see them taking the trophy away once it has been presented, that would be too embarrassing for the FA, it would make a mockery of the football league. This sounds like good news for QPR fans. I suppose they could delay the trophy presentation? I don't know, this is all a huge mess. The FA is a joke.
Yes that is the football leagues rules. After the final round of games start, the season will have ended. So if the FA even do give us a points deduction, it would go through to next year
Northolts right. If the trial ends Thursday and the findings are to be withheld until Monday at the earliest then the only outcome is that the findings do not affect the final placings. Thank gawd for that..... drinky time I think!!
Thanks North. Read it. So the Mac tweet about the PA story must've referred to something else. So the FL play-off semis go ahead as planned i.e. during our appeal decision time. I understand you're optimism but if it's in the bag why all the sweat about the end of the hearing after 4pm tomorrow? I've never seen such a maddening case. Why does it have to be us in the best year we've had for ages?
or remember Swindon, late 80s early 90s...won the play offs, got the trophy, had the civic reception parade through town....then got relegated two divisions! (reduced to 1 on appeal) Feels like we'll be half way into next season before we can actually believe which league we're playing in! Enjoy the Summer folks.
