Another disappointing result against the ever infamous Burnley at the Circle has halted the Tigers' march towards the top 3 places but they are not down and out. A visit from Crystal Palace, managed by the attack-minded Ian Holloway who has already walked away from the KC with 3 points with Blackpool, looks to be making for a very entertaining end-to-end game. Some would argue these matches suit this Hull City side more as it leaves more open space for the likes of Aluko, Simpson, Elmohamady, Quinn and Koren to exploit and this is certainly the intentions. The performance against Burnley wasn't dreadful, but it was lacklustre. Chances need to be taken if a side is to sustain a Play Off battle and City couldn't manage to take arguably the 2 best chances of the game (Proschwitz and Quinn's efforts). Should the Tigers walk away with 3 points, it throws Steve Bruces' side right back in it and relieves the pressure of the chasing pack just below Hull in the table.

When Palace lost their first 3 games of the Season, their fans feared for the worst. A few bad Seasons lately haven't been very enjoyable for the Crystal Palace faithful but they all of a sudden took the League by storm and went on an unbeaten run that saw them end up topping the table. Outstanding performers such as the highly-rated Wilfried Zaha, Glenn Murray, Andre Moritz and former tiger Damien Delaney have been the catalysts for Palace's catapult up the League Table. They started the Season with Dougie Freedman at the helm, but he strangely left his in-form side for out-of-form Bolton which left a vacancy too good to refuse for Ian Holloway who looks to be the perfect fit. A serious problem for Palace however, as in-form striker Glenn Murray (15 goals) is in fact suspended for the match at the Circle, which releases a bit of pressure for the Tigers defence. Palace also lost at Elland Road on Saturday, which means City may have caught them on the beginning of a lapse of form for the Eagles.

    McTorres Mystic Ball Prediction
This certainly looks to be a match you aren't going to take your eyes off and there will be some great talent on show as Aluko faces Zaha in an attempt to prove that Zaha isn't the only young prospect the Championship has to offer. City will need to be tough, solid and clever when attacking, and definitely take their chances as this looks to be the match that shows City's Promotion Credentials. Evans/Meyler for me has to start just to give the defence that extra bit of cover instead of the big fairy that is Olofinjana. I'm going for a goal fest at Hull City 4-3 Crystal Palace! We all love a pessimist now! <cheers>

It will be a totally different game to Burnley. This lot will actually attack us and it's pretty likely that both sides will score.

We'd ****ing best win this one. I'm fed up seeing us give the other top sides a game but always get beat. We need a result in a game like this one to really get everyone behind the team and get them excited and believing that we're serious about promotion.

This all hinges on the team Bruce picks.

If we pick a team that is capable of playing quickly, maintaining a high passing tempo and pressing their midfield, we can win.

If we give them freedom to play, if we are too slow in moving the ball, and if we fail to penetrate their defence when Elmo is double-teamed again, then we will struggle.

I think it'll be something like 2-1 either way, with a sending off and a missed penalty.

I have got as feeling either city will either win 3-0 or it will be a 2-2 draw, depending with City turn up tonight. UTT

I am with you on this on John. You just about summed my feelings up on tonights game. Big plus is that Glenn Murray is suspended and Zaha's form has dipped of late. After saturday i expect City to get back to form though.
Word friom Palace towers has Murrays place going to Jedinak. twt.

Logic and Law of averages thinks that you could be correct on this one. But we have only one draw so far this season.

Great game to have after the Burnley game imo. I think we may get back to a clean sheet tonight. Looking at Palaces december fixture list they could now be starting a losing run of games.

Gonna be a tough game, and a hard one to predict... City this year look a different side, there's no reason why we can't win. Especially with Murray out!

    Great previews McTorres!

Radio Rugby are apparently reporting that the starting XI will be unchanged.

I find it hard to believe he'll start Oli again after the last two performances, we had no midfield at all on Saturday.

Please, no. Oli was pretty dreadful for ther last two games, and Meyler didn't exactly cover himself in glory against Burnley.
I can only see the sensible option being Evans, with McKenna and/or Meyler as a backup.

Definitely an Evans/Mckenna game. If Oli starts again, there's something wrong!

If Oli starts I'll lob a meat and tatie pie at the back of Brucies head.

I'm in the West stand upper tonight so it'll have to be a good throw but it's doable. It's definitely doable.

I've stuck up for Oli on numerous occasions but his performance( or lack of)on Saturday was an absolute disgrace.

    Evans for me.

Lob it down to me and I'll do the honours.

But you'd better warn me it's coming...
