And the BBC's reporting continues to defy belief, even for people (such as myself) who think their level of journalism is beyond moronic as it is - they're running a story saying "fan arrested for antisemitic chanting", whilst the rest of the news vendors are reporting so far two West Ham fans have been arrested for Nazi salutes. It's looking more and more like they're trying to protect West Ham, especially given they couldn't report the insane babblings of Peter Herbert fast enough, than report on the story. They didn't mention the chants on their website until this morning (only after The FA announced they'd be looking into it), they acted as if it didn't happen on MOTD2, and they're reporting incorrect information about the arrests. It's not the first time you can accuse the BBC of this, either - they were quick to report every single lie about us Karren Brady could think of during the Olympic Stadium bidding process, but never reported our point of view.
Do Arsenal have any Buddhist fans I wonder...wouldn't be right to call a pacifist a Gunner then surely...it could even be construed insulting.
So currently there's a lot of food for thought for thought for those complaining about anti-semitism in football. Baddiel has seen how swift and effective reporting the incidences can lead to people being caught and punished. Perhaps that should put some perspective of his time in a Chelsea stand that sang anti-semitic songs causing him to move. Instead of suffering in silence and (bizarrely) harbouring a grudge against Spurs for the situation, he could have led by example and reported the Chelsea fans who sang the songs. We've seen it's pretty effective. Herbert has learned the anti-semitism is not tolerated in football stadiums in Britain, that there's a more appropriate organisation to lead the charge against racism(The Board of Deputies of British Jews) and a group that actually reporesents real Jewish people found the West Ham chanting objectionable, not Spurs'(The Board of Deputies of British Jews again). No doubt they'll claim a victory for them though
And it is posts like this that prove my point and reinforce everyone else's opinion that you are indeed a fool ... that you are a moderator of the goon bored (sic) beggars belief - then again perhaps not, the lowest common denominators tend to align themselves to those of a similar intellect (or lack thereof).
It was an appropriate response to a lazy and repetitive accusation so your comment is wide of the mark - again. Nice try though Ensil, but you are too transparent to be taken seriously
Listen, I'm not here to fight with Spurs fans, but I will respond in kind to those who throw lazy insults around. I think there's a debate to be had here and I've engaged with this in a sensible way, so maybe it's time to just accept that it's not simply a one view issue and that there are other angles on this. Like I said, I'm probably aligned more to Spurs fans opinions on this than you'd like to admit, because it's easy to say 'He's a Gooner, he's here to Wum' but I do think that it's an issue that needs some scrutiny, because it has already opened a can of worms.
I thought as much - Poor Ensil Anyway, like I said in my comment above, I'm not here to fight with Spurs fans.
Lazy and repetitive, eh? You know phrases that include the words pot & kettle immediately spring to mind!..
The waters are muddy because people like you, and Peter bloody Herbert keep shovelling more mud into them!..
Well if you didn't keep going round in circles then we could take that kettle off the stove - and my shovel is clean too
Proof that Spurs fans aren't racist: 37 pages on this discussion, and not a single racial slur against Peter Herbert. I somehow doubt Chelsea, Leeds or West Ham fans could manage that...
