PLAY-OFFS SET TO GO AHEAD AS PLANNED The npower Championship play-offs will go ahead as planned, regardless of the outcome of the Football Association hearing into QPR's Alejandro Faurlin. Rangers have been charged with seven breaches of FA rules regarding the transfer of the Argentinian midfielder, with the verdict from the three-day hearing at Wembley expected tomorrow. If Rangers are found guilty they could be deducted points, denying them automatic promotion and dropping them in the play-offs. There were fears a subsequent appeal from the club would throw the play-off matches into chaos, but Press Association Sport understands the schedule will not be changed. As things stand Rangers, who are five points clear at the top, will be presented with the npower Championship trophy after Saturday's clash with Leeds at Loftus Road. But the Football League may have to put a contingency plan in place to take the trophy to second-placed Norwich, who would go up as champions if QPR are docked enough points. It would then be presented at Carrow Road following the Canaries' home game against Coventry. Cardiff and Swansea, one of whom will finish third, will also be closely watching developments. However, Rangers boss Neil Warnock continues to shrug off fears they will be stripped of automatic promotion, insisting: "I want the fans to enjoy the party on Saturday." Faurlin himself arrived at Wembley this morning to give evidence to the independent regulatory commission on what is supposed to the the final day of the hearing. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6914712,00.html
Kinda brings us back to an earlier stage... so supposing we end up in the play-offs and appeal? Play-offs have to go back up by 3 or 4 weeks. Can't see the point of that PAS statement - and they cannot have had insight into the verdict 'cos it hasn't happened yet.
Me neither. How can they know? Nothing coming through to say the hearing's ended, let alone with a pos result...
It's called a plea bargain lads, they've come to an amicable arrangement, that to me is the only way they could announce that.
Surely the only way to bury this is for us to be found innocent. Otherwise Cardiff and/or Leeds will have the option of launching a case. A plea bargain implies some sort of guilt.
I'm now hearing on twitter guilty on one charge, only a fine. But I stand by them announcing this re P Offs means we're up!
I am now totally confused, i have had so many highs and lows this week I think the only answer is to just get blasted at the leeds game and sky+ it on bbc so i can see myslef stumbling on! I may even streak during the match LOL
FA's officially delayed the decision. The choir's been tuning up all day. That bloody fat lady sure takes her time... can't seem to get a peep out of her!!
So we will finish the season and still be none the wiser? No one will know who's up/champs/play -offs? What the ****? One minute, confident, the next, re-gutted
So where does this leave us now,can we receive the trophy saturday only to have it taken away from us again.
