I can't vote on this but I said Yes here because when it comes to pompous, clueless ****s; Cameron is the complete package. If he votes X, I'd be happy to see Y win. No other reason really.

Dont care which system is best as all the parties are just ****ing liers, so I'm not wasting any time to vote just for liers to be elected.

Yes, I fail to see the drawback - people say "but the person who gets into power might not actually be the most popular choice overall" ... What like Cameron right now?

"but I only want to vote for one party" - that's sweet, you dont HAVE to put any other choices down!

I can't vote, but my argument would be that it's designed to keep the ones you don't like out of government as opposed to putting the best people in.

Only three countries in the world use AV: Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Australia.

6 out of 10 Australians have voted to get rid of it, however if the " peanut huggers " of Fiji and the cannibals of Papua New Guinea think it's a good system, then so be it.

    It's not rocket science.

The fear I have is that it has to be explained in the most simple of terms to a large majority of the population so they can 'understand' it and many are still baffled by it.

That doesn't bode well when an electoral system is too complex for a large swathe of the country.

To borrow David Mitchell's retort, most of the world is poor and starving, therefore that must be better and we should do it too...

Kill it with fire, then vote for Tioté.

whats used in republic of ireland (where i am from) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_transferable_vote#Voting

its very similar but the dude who gets the most votes can transferr their votes to their fav other candidate, so if you wanted labour in, and voted 1,2,3 for labour, if your main boy gets in, he can use his surplus votes to get their other party members in and also keep the enemys at bay. as far as i can see all the systems are flawed in one way or another, but i voted yes today, i think the next election will be much better with the big boys ****ting themselves.

I think that may well say more about the country than the electoral system..... but that's another debate altogether!! If I was anywhere near my local town to vote I'd probably be for AV but as it is I can't vote lol

This. Progressive politics ftw or we'll be stuck with this and as this is our second referendum in our history i doubt we'd get another chance to show we want a change.
