with tuesday's meetings at sedgefield and southwell (aw) abandoned we're left with jumps at lingfield.. couple of sortof interesting entries. topaze collonges one of two 5/2 faves at the moment (rosoff the other) for the 1:00. i also have lady willa, hoping for a place. 1:10 hollow penny (8/11) and until winning (9/4) obvious faves on paper and in the betting. then there's aikideau (12/1) in the 2:00 chase, who has only been in one chase as far as i can see and fell at the first. i'm not sure the chances it'll turn up and decide it knows what it's doing now? plus in the same race is somerby. i can't see why it's 100/1 when it's been in two chases already. but ok, it didn't do that well. worth a fiver, or not worth a fiver ew? 2:30 lindsay's dream is the only one i can see with good ew odds (9/1) but so is seedsman 9/1. pete the feat is also out in the 3:00 6/5 fave. oh, and here's a pic of wetherby not ready for wednesday http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-20489313 owzat for an amateur thread starter
4/6 last i looked. that would be my win bet. dark and dangerous (14) also in the same race and i *think* i remember the commentators said he looks a chase horse, but this'll be his first. cantlow second in the betting at 2/1 under AP.
4/6 is a pretty good price i think cos sire de grugy really should be outclassing this lot. 2l behind Captain Conan is very good novice chase form in my eyes as i can see captain conan going onto big things. Cantlow needs further than 2 miles. Only doubt would be the heavy ground but his run over cheltenham was on soft so hopefully it shouldnt pose too much of an issue
Cantlow does need further Brough but is still useful at 2m. I think Sire De Grugy wins but Cantlow is useful and will not be far away again!
I reallly quite fancy Rosoff in the 1.00 as he loves the track, has in form Richard Johnson booked and will also have no problem however heavy the ground becomes. He can be excused his last run when well backed in a novelty Flat jockeys hurdle race as he ran because he is trained by the *****n family and the flat jockey Ian Mongan loves the horse. The horse's last win however was over fences and that for me is his game now and against reasonably uninspiring opposition i think he can go in. Lingfield 1.00 Rosoff 5-2 I agree on Pete the feat Stick, has been impressive and i feel has at least one more win in him before the weight will tell.
Studied this race at length this evening Bluesky9 purely because the Sherwood winner (what a price) has landed me with a free bet. Its a trappy affair and I could have made a case for six of the seven runners (watch Quuen Of The West win). I plumped in the end for SAWAGO but it was nearly yours. Good luck mate.
Manshoor 2.30 won last season after 2 spins on the flat. Has had it's 2 spins this season........ Hopeful of a run at circa 14-1.
Morning all, Hope we are all well. 3 for me today: 2:00 Cantlow. 3:00 Pete the feat. (NAP) 3:30 Salford Lady. Good luck all.
Morning all. Roll on Newbury! Another day at the office today..another cold and wet morning where I have skipped breakfast to get the commute on time! So I wanted to ask- what would be a bloody good breakfast in the eyes of our not606ers? Also its almost December- would anyone like to contribute an article to the 'Under The Spotlight' series and be Episode 2?
1. Breakfast - in the BA Lounge last week I was on bacon sandwiches and champagne - marvellous 2. Under The Spotlight - let me have a think, might get something up over the weekend, time permitting Had a little dabble on the Greatrex horse Berkeley Avenue in the bumper - he knows how to get one ready. They'll be finishing strung out like washing on that ground today.
Breakfast - Beans on toast would be my choice. As for the horses nothing for me at Lingfield today, but a speculative e/w punt on the 4.02 at Steepledowns no.2 Gorefield currently 25/1?
