He's got Eric Cantona at No1. Personally I would have chosen Henry, not just because he was an Arsenal legend, but because unlike Cantona who had already won a league title at Leeds, Henry was a complete unknown. Playing out of position in a foreign league. When Wenger brought him to the Premier League he turned him into the best player this league has ever seen <ok>

He has Alonso there but not Fabregas. Sorry Cesc had a far bigger impact on the PL than Alonso did. Also he cost Liverpool £10 Mil and Cesc cost us next to nothing.

I think Motty was trying to even out the clubs, but in the process missed the obvious genius of Wenger's signings <ok>

If Vieira didn't even make the list, then there's no way that any Spurs players would be in there.

The one I would most question is Xabi - phenomenal player but had no where near the impact of other players in the EPL he didn't really lead Liverpool to anything (yes we won CL but he wasn;t instrumental). I am okay with Cech seeing as Mourinho's/Chelsea's success was built from the back and untill recently he was the best thing in it. I would say if Peter Schemiecheal (sp?) was bought in the EPL years than he should be far ahead.

    Mine would be

Henry, Bergkamp, Cantona, Roy Keane, Drogba, Vieira, SHEARER, lampard, ashley cole, van der sar

TBF to Motty he says they are in no particular order, but his fav is Cantona and while I dont think he is no 1 it is silly to say he doesn't deserve top 10

Bergkamp is far and away the best player to have graced the premiership

Such a subjective topic. I'm a big Bergkamp fan myself, so he would have been in there for me, but perhaps I rate players differently. I would have Zola in there too.

Dennis bergkamp was the first real superstar to come the EPL who was in his prime, we had klinsman the year before but he was at the end of his career. Truly world class players in their prime did not come to the EPL at that time. The first time I heard that dennis bergkamp has signed for arsenal was when it was one of the main headlines on news at ten, which shows how big a deal it was at the time, some younger fans will take it for granted that big names flock to the EPL now, but that was not the case then. Dennis begkamp was possibly the most important signing in premier league history because after that top class players started coming here, but he was the first.

I remember Juninho to Middlesborough being quite a big deal at the time.

They also managed to sign Ravenelli who had just won a European Cup Winners medal a few months previously!
