Big admirer of him, and from the response he got when he was about to come on, apparent that most of the clubs fans are. He needs to be starting the match vs. Peterborough United, to get ready for the game against Millwall. During the Huddersfield match, we kept putting in decent crosses into the box, and from corners, just no-one was there to receive them, and I thought to myself that Yann would have converted one or two of them.
To be honest a lot of our players I have grown attached too over the last season. Kermorgant is very committed to the cause which is why he is loved but I also think Solly, Wiggins, Morrison and Stephens are very popular amongst our fans, well those are the ones I am would least want to see leave at least.
That is a matter for our medical and fitness staff to decide. None of us are in a position to judge. Too soon could put him out for further weeks and months. He will be back starting soon enough, whether Tuesday or later. It is not as if we are desperate. Hulse is scoring and getting ever more match-fit after a long spell out, and Fuller hasn't played enough to blend in his talents with the rest of the team. They are quite capable of scoring a brace each on Tuesday and that would take the urgency out of Kermit's return.
i'm not too fond of stephens. looked like he wanted to jump ship first chance he got and has since put in a run of mediocre performances.
Totally agree. Team spirit is good at Charlton and there are plenty who could be added to CC's shortlist, but Stephens is not one who plays for the shirt. He will be off first offer. When his move to Villa fell through CP had to leave him out of the next match because "his head wasn't in the right place". That is not the sign of someone who loves playing for Charlton as less naturally talented players like Pritchard, Hulse, Wilson and Kerkar clearly do.
The one I really want to see in the starting lie-up is Haynes. He's made a huge difference recently not just with his goals but with his pace, his willingness to run at defenders and pull them all over the place he's been a real handful, and it's such a pity he seems to have so many fitness problems for whatever reason. The question is who will partner him. Fuller would be my choice if it wasn't for his selfishness, and I hope The Doctor has torn a strip off him over this. Hulse has done OK but he is not our player (yet anyway) and when he is fit enough Yann the man will hopefully slot in with Haynes.
He looked great, but fitness is far more important. Fuller & Haynes if fit for me, get the ball to feet
