as a short term manager do you really think anyone is giving him money? RA will buy who he wants with his "unlimited" "uncontrolled" and "rule breaking" funds and cheslea will toddle along not dominating english football but winning the odd trophy was he keeps upsetting the apple cart. for the record i think chelsea with mikeland ramieries were found out in midfield. Front 4 and keeper are top drawer and his defense is "ok" but they simply don't have the midfield... neither do city nor utd and this si why CL will elude them all. Rafa can buy lucas for 100mil if he want.. he can certinaly have skertl, no bother. we've his ready made replacement ready to go.... 40mil please rafa. this is like a FM game, set up another manager seall all chelsea's top players then go buy some LFC reserve for all thier cash and laugh....
Apparently we are being linked with Mauro Zarate - awesome player on FM 08 but no idea what he's like anymore. Fallen out at Lazio and we, Arsenal & Stoke are all interested in him. Guess he'd fit in as one of the wide forwards from what I remember but looking at his goal scoring record over past few years doesn't look like he'd be the goal scorer we need. 13 in 33 in 08/09 3 in 27 in 09/10 9 in 28 in 10/11 3 in 15 in 11/12
Doesn`t look like Jan is going to be as big a business as some Liverpool posters in this thread had been hoping. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...erpool-spend-big-January-transfer-window.html
I read this but I think it's a way of trying not to be fleeced in Janaury. January usually represents highly inflated prices but it doesn't help when BR constantly talks about the need to bring in more players so other teams know that we are desperate to buy. I think this article/interview is designed to negate this. I think we'll bring in 2-3 players for a combined of £20m. The Echo have reported that we will have roughly £20m will be available to BR which I think is reasonable when you consider players like Hunterlaar, Walcott and Holtby could be available at reduced prices because of their contract situations.
What paper does? I know you guy`s are after a striker, but the same paper quotes Harry after a striker also in Jan so you could have competition. Jan is not normally a good time to purchase strikers as it`s usually only ones that are "off the boil" who are available.
Why would we have competition from QPR for a striker? You post a link to the daily bollox as if it's the gospel, then you say no papers can be trusted? Strange behaviour.
The link was more to do with an interview your manager gave i.e. press conference stating he doubts you will do much business this Jan. It is reported in most media as your manager said it it`s not been willy nilly made up by the Mail. So please explain why my behaviour is strange, or did you just mis-understand the context of the link?
Wouldn't fit into the system However, the rumour is about a loan deal, maybe as a backup player but then, why would he leave Villa as a backup to come and sit on our bench? I'd rather swap Downing for Walcott
I wouldn't mind Bent on loan as a short term option until the summer where we can look towards the future. There is no doubting his ability to score goasl, he's done it at every team he's been with in the Premiership from Charlton to Spurs and even at Villa before he got injured and subsequently dropped. Can be backup for Suarez when injured/suspended or in need of a rest or possibly play through the middle with Suarez out wide again if needs be. As they say, you can never have too many goal scorers
However, the rumour is about a loan deal, maybe as a backup player but then, why would he leave Villa as a backup to come and sit on our bench? You've answered your own question there...why wouldn't he want to sit on our bench rather than villas?
