The other day Stan James offered 100/1 on Alan Pardew to be canned, today they are offering 50/1 for him to be canned. I will make a bet Tuesday, but am gutted I didn't take it when the odds where at 100/1.

Anyone on an 8 year contract is very unlikely to be sacked.

I bet Ashley would disagree when he sees the TV money he'll miss out on if Alan keeps us in the worst form we have endured since 2008.

If Ashley is as astute a business man as he must undoubtably be, given how well he has done, then l cannot believe that he has given Pardew an eight year contract with no provisos attached.
That would be pure lunacy and Ashley has proven that he is no lune.

There will be multiple clauses in said contract that gives Ashley some form of get out where Pardew is concerned.
Now don't get me wrong, if Ashley were to sack Pardew, he would need to compensate him, but there is no way it would be a case of. Okay Mike, not going so great is it, never mind, here's 8 years pay to soften the blow of being canned, good luck old chap.
Never going to happen, so l don't think and never did to be honest, that the eight year deal would mean that Pardew is untouchable .
    Ashley is not that dumb.

A bad day at the office, Pardew seemed clueless as to what was going on out there on the pitch and the players didn't seem to know what job they were supposed to be doing. I don't know what the pre match instructions were but it's pretty obvious they weren't successful. A very dire spectacle but at least Santon was man enough to come over to the fans at the end of the game (the only player that did) and hold his hand up as if to say sorry for the whole sorry episode.

Another performance like that on Wednesday and I might just find something better to do with my time and money.

At this point you'll be financially crippled for years to come if you give him the sack. 8yrs worth of wages is an awful lot of,dough to dish out!

You can be rest assured that Ashley will have covered his a.se before signing up to this, after all he's not a complete idiot.

Anyone who believes that Ashley cannot sack Pardew because of that contract alone has not worked under an utter twat for a boss. Ashley has probably 10 different loopholes or clauses in the contract which would allow for him to sack Pardew, things like where we are in December, where in the League we finish, if attendance drops. Pardew is not safe, and I can see him gone in a season at the most. Or if our form continues January.

Depends pn his wages. He'll be on £0.5m a year so £4m isn't much in the scheme of things.

Ashley will do what is best for Ashley and if means sack AP he will do it.
Like others I think he will have compensation covered.

I'm not shocked by Pardew's plight though at all, his record shows the exact same pattern, starts off like a Maestro then looks like a fool the following season. I was just hoping he could at least give us a spot amongst the top 10 and a decent showing in the Europa league... Yes 3 of our top players are injured but we have enough to do a lot better on the field than we currently are. In regards to his contract, he won't be on anything like what Harry Redknapp would be on and on top of that I believe there will be clauses involved like people have already stated. The biggest problem I have with Pardew is nothing is ever his own fault and he rips confidence from the players with his "only you can change this" attitude when it is more so his own doing... prick.

    So he's doing a half-decent job then...?

not really, If we got to the Semi's and ended up saving our bacon on relegation day, I'd still be depressed.

There will undoubtedly be clauses in his contract like relegation 'release' for example.

I think though that all this talk of sacking Alan Pardew is all rather premature. <ok>

Lol! With some of these comments, you'd think Mike Ashley actually knew something about football.....

I agree it's premature, even I someone who is clearly unhappy with him, doesn't want him sacked. I personally just can't see him, with our owners and chairmen lasting as long as we can!

Never liked the guy even when he took over at Saints and did amazing the first season. I was so pleased when he ****ed up abit and Cortese sacked him, he has no idea how to change the game. He also looks a moany bastard all the time and hardly ever admits he was wrong.

The other thing that pissed me off about him is his subs come far to late in the day, making them have hardly anytime to do anything. Wouldn't know if he does the same at yours? As I don't follow you as much as I use to(when Shearer was there).
