What a fitting finale to a fantastic season. Congratualtions to Seb Vettel. A fully deserved winner - a truly special special driver and I thought it was a poignant image seeing him and Schumi embracing each other. Truly the young pretender has now taken his place now. Great season once again from Alonso. Probably his best ever. A great effort from him but also Ferrari who were ridiculed at the start of the season but at the season ends everyone included in that team, especially Massa, pulled together and just came up short. Let's not forget today's race winner - Jenson Button. Stayed out of trouble unlike anyone else and yet again used his 6th sense to read the changing conditions brilliantly. With the resources geared towards Jenson solely next year, never rule this man out for 2013. I think he might just feature heavily next year. It was also something very much for McLaren to shout about on a sad day for them. I hope he returns to McLaren again in the future, but the memories Lewis and that team have provided over the past 6 years has been unmatched. Wonderful to watch it on the BBC once more. Sad to see Jake Humphrey leave his presenting duties but no one can deny what a fabulous job he did. Overall the BBC, even with half the races, showed up the competition again. Amazing coverage for a truly amazing sport. Final words should go to the now retired Michael Schumacher. 'Life is about passions. Thank you for sharing mine'. Can't help but think we did that, not just with you Michael but the whole grid. Not bad Michael. Not bad at all.
Think it might be good for me to stay off the interweb for a bit. The more I hear from Vettel and his fans the more I want to throw up.
I'd agree he did a brilliant job, but the flip side is I dont think he got ****ed over by all those people/things at all. So hey ho. Anyway enjoy it mate, you have plenty to celebrate and hopefully Jenson will take it from him netx year!
No, the reason he is disliked is that the most recent period of dominance (Schumi) was one of the most boring periods in F1. Vettel's similarities with that era make him too hard to dislike. If he won 2010/11 or 11/12 then I think he would be less disliked
1. Vettel 2. Webber 3. Alonso 4. Massa 5. Button 6. Perez 7. Raikkonen 8. Grosjean (probably) 9. Hamilton 10. Rosberg 11. Hulkenburg 12. Gutierrez 14. Di Resta 15. ? 16. Maldonado 17. ? 18. Vergne 19. Ricciardo 20. (Kovi?) 21. Pic 22. Glock 23. (Chilton?) (24. De La Rosa) (25.)
Summed up really really well, great post. Thats classic But even without the shops that incident made me laugh more than anything else thats ever happened on track.
The way he went up the hill thought "oh **** its closed", turned his car around on a knife edge, and left was the best. Someone should of said "hey errm there is a race going on behind you mate".
