I can tell you that a few did but most did not and it was after about three years. A few years back a few blokes booed Ryan Giggs and some lemmings joined in. No more than a couple of hundred in a crowd of 75k. I read on this board that 'we were all' booing Giggs. Says it all.
In general I think Chelsea fans are twats. Either they are neanderthal, old guard twats or modern, knowfuckall twats. But I understand why they booed Benitez. He made some pretty derogatory remarks about Chelsea and can't expect the fans to just forget that. If the Chelsea fans had any balls they'd also be booing Roman but of course they're scared he'll **** off and leave them in the ****.
yeah, pretty sure most of you gave him a few years before you started on him and even when he was clinging on (89-90?) there would have been fans who thought he should stay. One things for certain though, however any of us have treated previous managers etc none have ever shown that level of mass disrespect before.
That's because Roy was and always will be a awful manager. I never wanted him to get the job this is true. But like all of my fellow supporters we gave him a chance rather than booing him immediately. Also we waited more than weeks before asking for his head. Try 6 months which evidently is more respectful than a single day.
There was unrest, certainly, but I still maintain most of us could see a work in progress and the whole thing has spiralled to the whole crowd, en masse, booing Ferguson. Which simply never happened. I think the reason the Chelsea crowd booed Benitez is that he has slagged them off on more than one occasion while at Liverpool and this is a little reminder. Pretty sure they won't do it next game. Depends on his results though!
Boing Benitez was a disgrace, he stated in his interview that he did not hear it, but you could see in his eyes he was clearly wounded. He did not deserve that, but should have known better taking the job, should off told the chavs to sling their hook. Do not the plastics will be cheering him in a few games. **** club, **** fans.
