Haha, thanks for the clarification! The second one he just fell over, but the first one looked a better shout, I'd have to see it again though. Can understand ref not giving either to be fair, was harsh to book him for kicking the ball away though. Having said that, other teams seem to get them and we don't, still waiting for the officials to give us a the time of day. One of those given, Rodriguez's goal allowed and a couple of those ones that hit the woodwork going in and we're looking at a thrashing, and that would have been no less than we deserved. Best team performance I've seen from us in a long time.
Well that was fantastic to listen to. Brilliant that he stuck with Gazza, and that he made that fantastic save. Always feel happy when Cork is in the middle. Ramirez, well, someone at the game please tell me how good he is a again? I have to get to a game soon, probably over Christmas when I visit my parents. Love the fact that Merrington is pointing out that there are great combinations around the pitch, Puncheon and Clyne for example.
Yeah we did, but this is going to go so unnoticed, all season weve been getting robbed of decisions! Lambert has to be hospitalized to win a foul!
It was a great team display. The front 4 made some really nice passes that really threw the NU defence. The back four played tight and let little get passed them and when they did Gazza was there. Great save from him and played well positionally. Cork and Morgan were solid as well. Hope all are able to start Wed. This is the best team we have at the moment.
Just seen Yoshida and Gazza hugging and laughing on Sky Sports. You'd think a win and a clean sheet was unusual
That was my prematch alter ego...I am my usual chirpy self now (this will last until Wednesday morning).
You're not wrong mate, I usually don't bemoan the influence of officials much, when many were damning the ref to hell against Swansea for losing us the game, I felt it didn't matter and we should have won regardless. But that was truly one of the worst officiating performances I've ever seen, for both teams not just us. That said, it doesn't take the joy out of the victory at all and I am still beaming right now, but just felt like airing my frustrations! Apologies for putting a downer on it. Now let's all have a disco! I thought there was contact and then he stumbled, both times there was a bit of a leg out from the Newcastle defender which Gaston was all too happy to go over. Not so much protesting those decisions, just moaning a touch about us not getting much of the rub of the green right now. That said, we didn't need it today because were were just that good. And Newcastle were that bad.
Well amusing to see there are quite a few Toon fans calling their performance against "relegation certainties" and "the worst team in the league" a disgrace. Lets hope all the other clubs see it that way - bring them on!
I've just phoned 606 so If I get through later you will be able to listen to me talk about the brilliance from Saints today.
If they say that they can't have been paying attention. We have had the performances, but been careless or not got the rub of the green. Tbf..I know nothing about Newcastle, but then I wouldn't post comments about them.
He's playing for one for sure. And I don't mind as long as he plays for his next from the start! He was fabulous today, looked as good as he did at Loftus Road.
Big cheer when he emerged from the tunnel, they sung "Pardew give us a wave" too. He raised his arm and got a cheer then too.
