Or, as Pardew might have it, raped them. Don't think murdering them will cause quite as much controversy, though!
Disappointed only to get two; need to buck up that goal differential, could be very important at the end of the season. ...though Europa League doesn't really interest me that much, anyway.
Great performance, Ramirez and Lallana superb, Puncheon good too, even Gazzaniga had a good game! We're still not getting the luck though are we? Lovely finish from Rodriguez harshly disallowed, Newcastle defence all over the place towards the end, could have been 6-0.
Enjoyed that performance massively. What a fantastic team we are when we can defend. No one had a bad game and Gazza made a cracking save. No one is going to want to play us at the moment. COYS! Together as one
Without doubt one of the most inept displays of officiating in the premier league since the Clattenburg fiasco at Stamford Bridge. The lot were a disaster, countless basic decisions wrong. Mainly, the goal was a good foot onside, Lallana's ghost touches for throw ins in key areas, that wild lunge on Davis at the end(he got the ball, but ive seen players sent off for lunging like that.) And most annoyingly for me, the niggly fouls that he kept pulling us up for?!?! Lambert was being pulled all over the place all game and got nothing! I hope Atkinson and his bunch of crooks take some serious time out to reflect on that shambles of a display, so embaressing for them. Commentator at the end said 'If southampton had not have won this game, i think they may have 1 or 10 complaints to make about the decisions made.' and they are meant to be impartial! It was a ****ing joke!
I'm putting these 2 wins down to me creating the match threads. It can't be coincidence that we produce our 2 best performances of the season when I've made the match threads surely!
Absolutely bloody fantastic. Best I've seen us play in ages. Should have been 4 or 5. Puncheon and Ramirez were incredible.
Referee and his team (officiating team, not Newcastle) had a terrible game. For both sides to be fair, another ref may have sent Fonte and Gaston off. Although scratch that, another ref wouldn't have booked Gaston at all. But Newcastle should have had 3 defenders sent off, made some shocking slide tackles and should have accumulated plenty of yellows between them. Goal incorrectly disallowed. Shocking with the throw-in decisions. And we just can't buy a penalty. To be fair both times Gaston is going down easily but there's contact both times, another day we'd get those but it seems the refs are very keen on not giving us any marginal ones. Or stonewall ones, for that matter. Another day that would have been 5 or 6, partly also due to a little bit of a lack of real killer finishing from us, but Newcastle were very lucky to leave with any semblance of dignity.
Oh who cares about the officials! We kicked the **** out of Newcastle. Let's just celebrate a fantastic win and a clean sheet.
It's a winning combination. You cover our games I'll do the others. We win our rivals lose. Brilliant!
