Pipe? He's a very dangerous player when he's on his game. Doesn't seem to have been on his game much this season though.
I'd just like to quickly add that not many Newcastle or Sunderland players have been on their game this season I've watched quite a lot of matches live, I've spent most of my time laughing at you lot and crying at my lot
He's been hitting the first man with corners almost all season, the goal Gardner scored yesterday was in prime Seb territory, that shows itself, Gardner normally takes the more central ones if any as he is more an 'arrow shooter'. He's not worth his shirt at the minute Seb, and I really like the lad.
That 'culprit' will be me then Cest. At the end of the day O'Neill has had a year (couple weeks off a year if you want to be bitchy) and the team and performances have got worse. I have seen no signs of improvement and we aren't any further forward than Bruce. At least I enjoyed the first couple of years under Bruce. Sometimes you look to deep into things Cest and it must wind yourself up, I have heard nobody on here (not once) say they want to get rid of O'Neill because he hasn't got us top 10 or into Europe. What I am saying is after 1 year there's been no improvement, along with the fact he looks unwilling to change things about to show improvements, along with his ridiculous transfer policy of buying British based players, along with his boring tactics and boring football, along with the fact he has never managed our team to victory against 11 men in 8 months, along with the fact he is without his Deputy (John Robertson), along with the ongoing rumours about his wifes health, god love her (but it can't be good for his family or our football club if they is an issue there), along with the fact we have been 2nd best in every single game so far this season. Yes, I have my doubts and with very good reason. Another thing that gets my back up, is a lot of supporters on here say we will never do anything changing managers every 12 months (a very good point in theory), but Bruce and Keane both got a lot longer then 12 months so that's a stupid argument. The fact is under Keane and Bruce we done well and sustained it over a period of time. O'Neill sustained it for a couple of months and since then has been absolute dog ****. That's where the problem lies for me and if we keep giving him time, my honest opinion is he will take us down and then you will be the 'culprit' for showing this man to much support when we needed some change.
A year is no time in football, if we had not606 in Peter Reid's day you would have wanted rid of him after he took us down the first time and then we would have missed out on a couple of good seasons wouldn't we. MON's tactics maybe a bit boring, but he is a highly regarded football manager - if we are not seen to give him a chance who would follow him in, other than Curbs type managers? SAFC83, you have told us who you don't want, now for the difficult bit, who would you have? And I'm being realistic - not your Redknapp's, RDM, Martinez, you have obviously given a deal of thought to MON going, so tell us who you would be prepared to see at the club who you would give say 2 or 3 years to unequivocally have a go at achieving consistency. I share your frustration, however getting rid of MON would not achieve anything, other than making you feel better for a little while until you realise there is not instant fix for where we are. As a club I would like to be where Everton are, built a good squad, well drilled and organised with a manager who has been supported through lean times - and how long has Moyes been at Everton?
Spot on mate. It took SAF 4 years at Utd and Moyes 6 at Everton before they got some consistency and Everton were nearly relegated twice in his first 4 years (last day of the season both times). Both Everton and obviously Utd were streets ahead of the place where Martin inherited Bruce's flops last December - yes that's LAST December not 3 Decembers ago and anyone who thought we were just going to become a top 6 side in the blink of an eye knows naff all about the game IMO.
