With the huge amount of rain the NE has had overnight, does anyone know how the SOL pitch is? Heavy rain is forecasted for the next three days.
Not a lot of rain here mate and the pitch looked okay yesterday after the game mind you we did have to water it a bit at half time due to it drying out. You attending or not QPR usually bring a decent amount up?
I am attending most definately. It's like a home game for me. I think with the "Redknapp factor" will see more R's fans than if MH was still in charge. I'd guess at least 1,000.
Due to the rain this morning I did not want to take dogs down to the beach(dogs get wet and covered in sand head to tail) I took then down to the ex playing fields at Seaburn Camp - the ground is saturated, it cannot absorb any more water, however I would expect the SoL pitch to be playable. The Reading game issues were caused by the under pitch drainage channels being obstructed with sand, soil and debris from the pitch being re-turfed, these have been mechanically cleared and the pitch should cope. Having said that, there has been 60mm or 2.4 inches of rain in the last 48 hours in some parts - onto sodden ground, I predict there will be a few ropey playing surfaces this season.
It never bloody stopped raining last night..The road outside of my house, which is on a bank next to some woods, looked more like a river when I finished work this morning..
I was at the Sol today having dinner in the river view brasserie. Took apeek out and the pitch looked fine
aye MrRAW, it was fair biblical this morning, the fish were out of he pond knocking on the back door for food.
Raining heavy mate outlook looks okay for tonight though as it should slow down a bit so if the drains are okay this time should be thumbs up for the game tomorrow night.
