So the City fans that refused to give anymore money to crooks and used the funds to get them locked up, or the Leeds fans that have been boycotting Elland Road because of Bates are plastics in your opinion.

As an aside it's an interesting comparison that we've had decades of thieves and crooks running us into the ground whilst Leeds fans feel they've 'won' things, yet here we are with very similar gates despite our smaller ground and smaller City.

As the Norwich fan alluded to, there's a subtle difference between what you describe as a plastic and those artificial 'plastic' fans that have no connection to leeds but latch on to what they perceive as success.

No, but I don't doubt some sad sacks believe that, so at least it's relevant to the glory seeking plastic debate. <ok>

    Typo corrected.

If you just want to to post childish, irrelevant toss about Hull City, can I suggest you do it on another thread instead of boring everyone ****less on this one?

To totally say someone is plastic without back ground knowledge is a little condesending. There could be lots of factors involved, has a personal situation changed, marital breakdown so there broke, maybe they have a had a child, maybe got a house, maybe lost a job. Its too much of a blanket statement in this current climate to say some-ones plastic. To me if someone who has the capacity and no change follows a team only when there succesfull is what I call a glory hunter like most of scum or chelski followers.

There's a couple of lads at our place, one an Arsenal fan the other Leeds. They both have coffee mugs, scarfs and car stickers proclaiming them the No1 fan of said clubs. The Arse fan has been once to the Emirates. The Leeds fan, pushing the boat out,has been twice, once to Elland road and once to the K.C. The ER game was a ****ing testimonial !

When questioned by yours truly, they both reply "always did mate, man and boy". Niether can indulge me in even the most playful football fan banter, they can't look me in the eye you see.

No wind up here at all,i just thought i'd define ''plastic fan'' for you. <ok>

DMD's claim that we "think" we were the best team in the country in the early '90s.

<doh> Me replying to your comment doesn't make it relevant any more than coming top for one season makes you the best football team in the country, after all, Stoke are in the Prem, but it's hardly football and no more relevant.

Funny how it seems to be the non-Leeds leeds fans disagreeing and trying to make it personal. I know a few leeds fans, and they tend to agree with the definition I used, obviously as I put, there'll be some exceptions, but a Lancastrian singing YRA or 'we are leeds' is patent bollocks in most cases.

Honestly don't understand the hate towards Stoke. Yeah they came up to the premier league and defended deep and in numbers and played long ball to big forwards, but it was effective and it helped them stay up. They're more than entitled to play football in whatever manner they please, that's the beauty of football. You might not like it, or enjoy watching it, but seeing as they're still in the premier league I'd say it's pretty effective. Plus from watching them on match of the day (I don't claim to watch them week in/week out because I don't support them, simple as that) they actually can play some half decent football now that the standard of player available to them has increased. Stoke are where they are on merit. You both went up in the same season, and they're there and you're not. I'd say that makes them the better football team, because they won enough points to stay up and you didn't. Not everyone has the money or the resources to play like Barcelona, so you play in whatever manner suits you. <ok>

Fair play to Stoke, they have done something Hull haven't. They have built on their success, and have added the likes of Adam, Crouch and Huff. When Hull were in the Prem (before they got relegated), they avoided relegation by 1 point. That's the closest you have ever got to success. Why shouldn't we be proud of our success in the 90's?

No hatred of Stoke, I simply mentioned them to make the point that the best football teams don't always win. I've seen quite a few teams in the past that may well win games, but I wouldn't want to be watching week in week out. With the money pumped into Stoke, a good manager would have built a good team.

    But we digress.
