According to today’s BBC Football gossip website, he wants to buy the following – David Beckham Scott Parker Peter Crouch Jermain Defoe He's certainly ambitious - I wonder who'll be leaving???? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/ PS - Interresting thread on QPR board - http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/181034-Which-do-you-think-we-will-honestly-finish-above
I don't know what you mean David Beckham - 37 Scott Parker - 32 Peter Crouch - 31 (32 in Jan) Jermain Defoe - 30 (a mere youngster) I watched MotD earlier and I would say watching that that they are in desperate of someone like Tettey - their defence is dire!!!! PS - At least Crouch's girfriend will be happy being back in London!!
Only if they play someone up front with him. Nowhere near as effective as a lone striker, the current trend at LR.
As I posted in response to Thai on another thread. There are going to be some very annoyed players come February with the 25 man squad rule. Either that or they will be happy picking up their wage every week while playing for the reserves. It annoyed me last season how QPR started with Bothroyd and DJ Campbell, then in January they were thrown to the side to be replaced by Zamora and Cisse. They even brought in Macheda and he didn't do anything except take up a spot on the bench. The same has happened to Green, he had one bad game, which a lot of 'keepers have occasionally, he was then thrown to the side to be replaced by Cesar. The Telegraph are suggesting that Redknapp will be after players like Friedel, Dawson, Defoe and Huntelaar. They are all going to cost QPR a lot of money and players such as Cesar, Ferdinand, Nelsen, Wright-Phillips and Zamora will also be thrown to the side. That's a big squad full of overpriced, overrated, overpaid, big egos where only 25 players can play and no one is going to want to sign.
The happiest people of all are the media. They can now concentrate on providing wall-to-wall coverage of 'Arry and QPR, with the odd reference to the other media darlings -- Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle etc. There'll be a quote from 'Arry in every edition and a frenzy of speculation about the next high-profile transfer target. No shortage either of agents flying kites -- they can recognise a gravy train from thousands of miles away. To mix yet another metaphor, what a circus! I really do hope QPR get relegated. Be interesting to see whether Joe Jordan joins 'Arry, or whether he decides he can do without putting his head in that particular noose.
I think it's difficult to judge QPR because in their eyes having a huge squad full of overpriced overpaid players is totally fine. The club genuinely don't care. They'll just buy and buy and buy. Profit and sustainability don't come in to it at all. I find it deeply troubling though, and if this were going on at our club I'd be protesting outside CR.
I completely forgot about Andy Johnson as well. Why get rid of a player like Helguson, who did well, and bring in Andy Johnson, who is injury prone? As I said above they are going to have a v big squad where only 25 players can play unless they can sell. If they do sell it will have to be for a lot less than what they paid for them originally. How many games has Dyer played? Or perhaps a better question is how many minutes has he played? He's picking up a massive wage each week while he's on the treatment table. Ferdinand and Nelsen are soon going to be forgotten, I could go on.
without wanting to wish QPR ill will, I hope arry doesn't succeed in keeping them up because a) makes our life easier, but more importantly, having a wage bill of over £2 million per week for the squad with an average attendence of 16-17000 is just fecking madness and should never be applauded, only ever highlighted as ludicrous. Still Arry may be able to help send another team down the adminstration route (the more I write , the more I realise that I'm not a redknap fan)
I heard on the radio that redknapp hasn't got a lot of money to play with in Jan so for people to suggest hes going to gey the likes of huntelaar is living on a completely different planet...
That may not be true though. Also, what's not a lot of money to QPR compared to United or Colchester? It was the Telegraph suggesting these players anyway, most of which are current or ex-Tottenham players.
If Huntelaar went to a club like QPR it would be a suicidal choice career wise, he should of gone to a Premiership club seasons ago but wasted time going to Real Madrid and Milan not that I blame him, but I genuinely think he would well in this league.
Why would Huntelaar move anywhere in January? If he stays at Schalke, he plays in the CL knockout stages. If he moved to another CL club such as Arsenal, he would be cup-tied and couldn't play in the CL. If he moved to QPR he would play relegation-scrap football. These are just wild rumours (added to which, Huntelaar himself has said there's nothing in the Arsenal gossip). Why do people keep circulating this nonsense? Everybody knows it is ill-founded rumour, yet folk keep regurgitating it.
Lazy journelism I say! They will link every player under the sun to them but are very unlikely to spend ridiculous amount again in Jan!
