I ditched Hammond ASAP. Sold him, along with De Ridder, Chaplow, Forte, Barnard, etc. I kept Puncheon for a while, he did quite well for me.

Managed in my first season to get Saints up to fifth. Only bought in Parr and Wellington Nem in the summer, with Alan Dzagoev coming in on a free in January. Scored the 8th most goals, and the 2nd least goals. Bringing in Ait Fana, Estigarribia and Burdisso in summer 2013, plus a right back and goalie!

Sounds like your holding your own, Im sat in 3rd in the Championship with Cheltenham, Since January i signed Vydra, N'gog and Glenn Whealen. 3 games to go but i have no chance of second. Hoping i can do it this time. Top scorer is now Leroy Lita, after a dissmal run of 5 goal in 43 appearances he now has 17 in his last 25

Crikey, he's perked up a bit then!!

It's kinda been downhill from then. I'm now halfway through the season, and sit 17th with 19 points.

Next game away at Stoke, first half hat-trick and provides an assist for Mayuka. How is Jay so good?

I haven't got FM13 yet, but reading this thread makes me think Jay Rod might be slightly overpowered.

Lets put it this way - in the four seasons I've played he scored 16 PL goals in the 1st, 28 PL goals (won golden boot) in 2nd, 17 PL goals in 3rd and 21 PL goals in 4th. So that makes 82 PL goals in 4 seasons! That's just counting PL goals. Including all competitions, he's scored well over 100 in 4 seasons!

Went down to the final day. I was 3pts ahead of 18th place Blackburn, they had MUFC at home, I had CFC away. They had an 8 superior GD.

They beat United 3-0, I beat Chelsea 3-1.

Board have now cleared all debts!

Liverpool just came in for me.... arrggghhh. Stay and probably go down, or go to Liverpool and re-build, and they're already in Europa...

They're proposing a £47m budget to achieve a Top 6/7 finish. It's September currently. They came 5th last year.

This is my 4th year at Ipswich now...

Well, it's been a slow start for me. Only signed two players and got rid of two before the first window shut. In- Quiring (sp?) as a RW - Cost 3.4m, and some 33yo German backup keeper on loan that was far cheaper than Kelvin for wages. Permanently Out - Kelvin - 240k from Spurs, and De Ridder 750k (150k up front) from Colchester.

No stardust on Rodriguez yet in my game, he's playing pretty poorly in fact but that may have been down to me lacking any CM's from my third game in.... S. Davis injured for 3 months on Int'l duty, Fox injured Cork in training for a fortnight (just back now), and having started Schneiderlin and Chaplow as Deep Lying Playmaker and Ball Winning Midfielder respectively in my second league game, they were both out injured after about 55 mins :-/ Finished the game with JWP and Yoshida in Centre Mid!!!

Anyway, quick question for anyone that's played a few seasons. What's the best way to develop the likes of Shaw/JWP/other 17-19 year old's? Should you:
    a) Put them in your first team and start them early before their actual ability catches up with their potential?
    b) Put them in your first team and use them from the bench where required?
    c) Keep them in the reserves/u18's?
    d) Loan them out?

I'm doing a mixture of a) and b) just now (pretty much like saints in real life) but am largely getting killed when I have to rely on them. Anyone got any advice on what they've found works best for them with this?

Don't know how to do screenshots, but I'm 13th in PL after 7 games now (W2, D2, L3) - Rodriguez has less goals (1) than Ramirez (3), Lallana (2), and even Fonte (2); while the same as Hooiveld and Clyne (1). I'm playing 4-2-3-1 with wingers same as tomw19.

    Cheers,
    Lat

I loaned out Shaw and JWP to a championship side. Also loaned out someone called Owen King, a CB who has 5 star potential. You probably won't have him as he came through the academy a couple of seasons in. Everyone will have different top prospects.

I feel bad that Jay Rod is my sub striker. To be fair Christian Benitez got the European Golden Shoe last season. First game of the season he got a hattrick..drew 4-4 to Wolves :( my defence is so crap.
