This is a poll for All the sad Spud fans that have no life that they troll the Chelsea board. I have made the voting public, so that we can discount the views of wums and swooning Gooners. We all know that Spud fans will get behind the new man, and that you all want him to do well - all of that is a given. What I want to know is this. At this point in time, as things stand right here and now, do you think Average will be a good thing for the club? We'll have a look at how things stand at the end of the season to see which of you called it right. Also, I have purposely omitted a "don't know" option, because I want you Spuds to nail your colours to the mast on this issue especially Herbert.
It will end in tears as I've said all along. Last season they: - Played Attractive football - Had a great home record - Had a great disciplinary record - Had a midfield that could keep the ball and dictate games Now they have none of the above. They'll be 7th-8th at best under AVB IMO. That said he hasn't been given the time or resources to stamp his authority on the side but him trying to oust Ashley Cole for Pereira, and outs Drogba/Cech trumps anything Rafa did at Liverpool. I don't think the Spurs fans have realistic expectations though (never do in fairness), they want to finish 3rd/4th with inferior playing staff, an inferior manager and with clubs bigger than them improving their squads.
The Sluds were decent for a short period under Harry; and even under him they were chokers .they are there for the taking at 3PL
I seriously think West Ham could win there tomorrow, it'll be the best chance the Spammers have had in years for sure.
Flattered that you should honour us by putting a whole thread about Spurs on your board King Ossie64. Doing this says that you are running out of subjects about your own team and you call US sad. Anyway I know a little about football, not as much as all of you who post regularly on here and those who post on the Spurs board but I have kept my eyes open and know a little about hitting a blip, winning a match and then going on a long unbeaten run which is what I think will happen to us. I have seen lesser teams start brightly and then fade to mid table and lower etc etc. Now we cannot judge AVB on his short period at Chelsea although I do admit that we are doing the same as you did under him ie start quite well and then fade away. But,what would have happened had he stayed with you? Would you have gone back upwards again? Now if Spurs start on an upward trend then we can fairly safely say that you would have done the same as well because a coach's traditions follow him to his teams. Now,at Spurs for me this situation is unprecedented. We've never had an AVB type character before who was successful in his home country and then "Failed?" at another team and was sacked so soon after and not being given a real chance to show what he could do. We are taking a huge gamble on AVB and I have to say that I'm a big don't know. We'll all have a better opinion when and if he stays with us a full season.
He's a freak but he's a clever guy. I don't know if he can make Sluds into winners though. They have no culture of success there
Well you can't ignore his record can you? He wins the double in his first season in Portugal and then goes on to win the Europa. He goes to you and then when he's gone you win the CL(Luckily mind) and when he comes to us we have the phenomenon of beating Man U at O/T for the first time in donkey's. Something always happens when he's around.
He was brilliant at Porto but they are a big club with a history of success. 26 leagues; two EUropean cups etc. They have a great domestic and European pedigree, spurs don't have that
Who was the bloke before Redknapp? Had you on course for relegation, and then went and managed Real Madrid for the rest of the season?
It was Ramos as you know but I don't see your connection here. Don't forget that we were on an upward trend in the Carling when Ramos came. From then on he took us downwards culminating in bottom place the following season. He came directly from Sevilla whereas AVB had Chelsea in between. The situations are different.
I'd forgotten his name, hence why I asked. It does seem that I misunderstood what you were saying initially though.
