That's what I thought, perhaps he's an insecure person that hates even the slightest bit of banter of mocking

The problem isn't him scoring against us, we've had players score against their former teams and it's part of the game. The issue is in the manner in which the goal was celebrated. His actions were uncalled for and unnecessary. He can show pride for his team and kiss his badge if he wants, but if he turns and does it in front of the opposition fans then I'd say he's doing it more for petty one upmanship rather than pride for his team. City fans are perfectly justified to be annoyed about it.

If he's feeling aggreaved for a few people laughing at him after he fell over, then he's a soppy little twat.

FFS people applauded him when his name was announced at the beginning. He didn't half go off on one.

I couldn't understand what happened which could provoke that sort of Celebration from him. It's so disrespectful.

Abdoulaye Faye should have nutted the prick and laid him out in Hospital for a couple of weeks! ;)

Integral Parton the team? Are you pissed? He ran around a lot but was generally poor. The fact that city had a song about him when he was with us that went " when you're sat in row z and the ball hits your head, that's dean marney" says everything

    Integral part indeed:confused:

There were alot of jokes made about him while he was here. Particularly his shooting abilities.

The tarts just lefthimself open for more jibes like the Saville is Dean Marney's dad song. It obviously gets to him and all.

he had a great season when we went up and wasn't that bad in the premiership.

Maybe he is a bit insecure ?

Whose pretending, he was ****! If you paid attention to the promo season he wasn't in the team for the critical games Hughes was. Doing well for Burnley though good luck to him.

I was one that didn't mind Marney. His shooting was without a doubt wayward, but he gave all he'd got.

I hope he cringes when he looks back on his 'celebration' today because it made him look even more small time than Burnley. He looked a proper ****er to be fair.

Played 41 times in the promotion season in the league. So define critical. Its crap like that that perpetuates the myth he was'nt any good. He scored one today at the KC. Thats more than Evans and Mckenna's goals for the whole of last season at the KC.

To be fair, if you asked most of us i thing you would get the same response, he was decent, no more no less. If he scored that goal against Spurs in the first season in the Premier League i stand by his confidence and performances would of rocketed. However they didn't and he was decent, me and gooch often said we missed a player like him who offered that bit of energy last year, and we still do at times.

Love the way football fans give players loads of abuse, but then cry like a baby when they get abit back from a player. What Marney did, didn't bother me in the one bit.

I don't recall him getting abuse before he made himself look small time to be honest.

I was in E1 and everytime he got the ball, he got heckled. Which is fair enough, but you have accept it back.

    FACTOID coming up.

Marney received some vocal booing from sections of the east early in the game. I don't know why as, yes he was no Pele, but he wore the City shirt with pride.

It bugged me when he got booed and it probably hurt him. He got booed again not long after and a number of people in the East around me shouted "Marney's ****" or "Marney you're ****ing ****" and even "Marney, you're ****ing **** AND not very good".

So, when he turned out to be the most effective midfielder on the park and finished off the best move of the game I though, "yeah I'd have celebrated like that too". It was a balls out '**** you' for getting grief he didn't deserve. As he did this, people around me in the East stand said things such as "Marney, you horrible ****", which is rather pathetic.

The same people, may I say, who called him **** and later said he descended from a dead *****. Horrible indeed.

Embarrassing from us today, I felt.

I was in E3 and can't say I noticed that at all until AFTER he'd mad a tit of himself. I did see him get a warm round of applause when he entered the pitch and was announced.

Sounds like he got abused by a bunch of nomarks, scored, and gave them the metaphorical finger. Who wouldn't?

Or are we meant to believe its ok for a bunch of mongs in the crowd, because after all they PAID to be there, to be allowed to shout abuse at players, but if the players respond, by scoring then basically taunting them, they're out of order?

Before any more ****e is posted in this thread, some of you need to read Party's post.

He was applauded when his name was read out, when the game started he was given a bit of stick, as is normally the way with returning players.

It was a good goal, that alone made the point, he didn't need to act like a ****.

    Did I mention that he's a ****?
