I'm firmly in the "wenger in" camp, but i can see some of the points made by the out brigade. It was similar to Norwich, we just turned up and expected to win, and he blew the substitutions too. Giroud needed to stay on, he had been our best player, Arsh should have come on at about 55-60 minutes etc.
That's cause we made them look decent. They pressed for periods in the game and then they sat back, that's when we should have struck. But our general play was never going to do that. The service especially from the wings was pitiful. Wenegr also made bizarre changes. Waited until close to the 70th minute to make them.
Wasn't really pathetic, especially coming off a midweek CL game and playing some guys who haven't played in a long while. We were decent but we lacked that killing edge today (something that Jack could have given us had he played). Villa also set up well and played well. The defense looked good for the most part, Chez was fanastic (Clean Sheet). Oxo had some flashes and Ramsey had a decent game.
We lost ground on the teams around us, i consider that to be the most important thing. If we can't be arsed to go for 3 points against Villa, then we're going to get crushed by Everton on Wednesday.
Can't criticise the team for not putting in a shift? They've earned more money playing in that game, than I will all year. I think we can expect them to put in a shift.
Honestly, Villa has been like that all season (pressing and making life difficult for other teams). They just haven't been able to keep it up all game. Wenger should have made the changes sooner (60 minutes). I'd ave put SJW10 and Arshavin on for Ramsey and Oxo tbh
1 Point off Everton, 6 Points of WBA, 4 off Chavski (think they'll lose on Sunday), 10 off United, 8 off City. We can't afford any more slip-ups. I think we'll get the job done on Wednesday (In typical Arsenal fashion) but we missed a good chance to gain points today.
Wilshere was clearly not fit enough to come on. He played the full game in midweek and also started against Spurs last Saturday. After 16 months out, I understand why he was not involved. But what I do not get, is why put him on the bench? We have someone like Eisfeld who is banging in goals for fun in the under 21's and could have put him on the bench instead.
We'd be bottom table this season if Gervinho didn't rise up to the occasion when Podolski and Giroud could score **** all. Again, calm down. That is his first 20 minutes since coming back, on terrible conditions.
Mentioned it during the game. At half time i said we weren't doing too bad, considering we only had 9 actual football players on the field. Looks like all the media attention has got to his head.
I wouldn't say he's been awful. He just hasn't made much of an impact. Maybe we're expecting too much from our young players but then, they're all we've got!
I really wish theo would hurry up and sign the damn contract. We're making all this extra cash, can't we just give him his 100k?
Is Eisfeld in the 25 PL squad ? I thought we were ****e today. The only plus point is we kept a clean sheet
