Bit mild for Fergie v Benitez that ain't it? When i saw the headlines i thought it was "that's a fact" part II.

I used to quite like Benitez but lost respect for him this week, can't see him lasting out at Chelsea no matter what he says

I found it amusing the papers went for an interview with his ex players at Inter to find out what they thought of him getting such a decent job, after doing a crap job there, and them picking Marco Materazzi out of all of them. He certainly didn't hold any punches- he said he hates him.

Materazzi is quality, seem to remember he had some issue with Benitez at the time can't remember what it was though. My issue with Benitez is that he is instantly the manager after di Matteos sacking, kind of lacking respect for me jumping into his shoes like that and must have been in negotiations with them regardless of the Juve result, bit below the belt.

The paper said, Materazzi hated him because Benitez told all the Inter players to chuck away all their photos of them winning the Scudetto & the champions league with Mourinho. Sounds a bit Brian Cloughesque this. There was probably more to it like.

No doubts Materazzi squared up to him, i bet.

Be interesting to find out the full story behind that. Materazzi was one of these players that shows anything is possible, from Everton as a foreigner struggling to adapt to the English game to all that success later on. Bit like our own Bruce Jr, never too late to show you can be a winner!

What are your thoughts on Redknapp? Hughes' chair must've still been warm.

Redknapp was on MOTD 2 last week saying he would have no truck with it while Hughes was the manager so he's clear I think

Oh so because "he said it" then obviously it's true. Does it not strike you as telling that a manager was sacked a day before one of the most daunting matches in the calendar rather than 6 days earlier and then miraculously a new boss is named within 24 hours? That must've been some quick movement to sound out interest, set up meetings and then agree a contract...

Maybe, I don't like Redknapp much but I don't think they agreed anything before the sacking, saying that I thought Jimmy Saville was innocent at first so reckon should be changing my name to Gullible Jacques Cracker this year the way its going

I'm not saying it was 'agreed' but I 100% cast iron guarantee that before Hughes was sacked they sounded him out during the week and he said he'd be interested in talking.
