This could literally be any scoreline. If Newcastle show up, despite all their injuries and suspensions they can still do us some damage. On the other hand, if we take full advantage of them, there's no reason we can't win this by 2 or 3. I'm going to go for a more realistic 2-2.
He was not really big, quite a solid bloke though. More noticeable for his long blond hair. Good player, consistent performer. I'm fairly sure he also played for Newcastle and Liverpool.
Just seen this on the Geordie board. Pardew not popular! [h=2]I'm sorry, but Pardew is seriously a ****ing idiot - Ben Arfa out for Southampton[/h]
But then if he didn't play, and they lost, they'd also be slagging him off for fielding a weakened side! Damned if you do, and damned if you don't
Would they though? It's the Europa League. I don't think I'd have cared if it was us. PL is much more important. And besides, even if they had lost, they'd still be in the box seat to qualify.
Sky have just referred to us as strugglers....we are not strugglers, we just didn't want to get boxed in on the bend...we want a nice clear run when we strike with lethal force.
Thing is they had already qualified and with three days before they visited us, there was no need to risk it. On the other hand he didn't have that many options because of injury. If Nigel had taken the first team to Leeds in the C1C, won, and one of our key players had got injured, it would have been terrible.
Presumably, the poster is one of several who open their gobs [or more accurately, tap the keyboard] before they have the best information. That's a football fan for you.
Did they mean in the premier league? Still a bit of a daft stat though considering we weren't in the league for all of those seven years!
