He's not that good. He had top players at Spurs. Not the case at QPR.

He did have top players and look where he got them.

He has only got to get an average squad to an average position.

They will be safe with games to spare.

They have even gone odds-against to go down with some bookies.

Redknapp told BBC Radio 5 live he would have taken the Ukraine national manager's job if QPR had not come in for him:

"I really genuinely fancied the job in the Ukraine, and I am not just saying that. I met the people and they were fantastic, managing an international team was of real interest.

"That was where I was heading at the start of the week. I would have taken the job, with an absolute certainty as it was an exciting job and they really wanted me."

    Oh damn!

As long as qpr take points of other fellow relegation struggling teams I will be happy but still think they will go down.

    Why would I be biased?

Makes no difference to me which one of you go down.

Yeah I'm friends with his dog <laugh>

No of course I don't know it for a fact, but it just doesn't make sense does it? He used it as bait to get a job in this country, that's the only logical explanation.

Just saying the same on Football Focus. The camera went back to the pundits and they were grinning, and I'm sure not just because he was being jokey. He's good at moving the truth around to his interpretation.

I so hope you are wrong. He had an ok squad with us, joined early December and took us down... let's hope he does the same with them.

A big part maybe if Joe Jordan gets a look in with the Scotland job. Jordan and Bond are more important to QPR than Redknapp, if he takes them with him.

Or he was genuinely keen on the Ukraine job. Different challenge. Admittedly it sounds strange but there's no evidence to suggest that he didn't seriously consider the job.

I don't think so. Why some people believe it's a given now that he's taken over is beyond me. He's a good manager, but he's taking over a dire club. It's going to take more than a bit of kicking up the arse to keep these players up, I think it's ridiculous to say they will definitely survive. They could be as good as relegated by January, before he even has a chance to spend a single penny.

My my Trixter you certainly have become cocksure since West Ham's good start to the season. I somehow think that you will not have as successful a remainder of the season as you have done so far and we will improve and pull away to safety. I do however feel that you'll finish above us by May because of the number of points you've already accrued.

    I agree.

If we could all see it was a bluff then why couldn't Fernandez?

I think he was considering it with the massive money they were offering.

Well there is some evidence; he accepted the QPR job a lot quicker than he accepted the Ukraine job. That suggests he was stalling and waiting for a better offer.

He would have been useless, he doesn't speak the language, he'd be away from his home, he just doesn't have the tools to adapt to that situation. I'd credit him with just enough intelligence to realise that. But it suits him now to talk up the fact he was in demand and portray himself as someone who could have done that kind of job.

Yeah I think our form will dip once we hit the 40 point mark around early March.

Be nice to have a stress free end to the season for a change.
