So i was told yesterday! apparently the club is opening a store in cwmdu ind.est to cope with the demand from S.korean fans, im guessing they need the space to set up a proper mail order facility ! this is good news and of course if its a 1000 a week then thats Ki's wages being paid by the korean fans! Ki plays for free !!

Laudrup has played a blinder here, not only is Ki great on the pitch but he is great OFF the pitch ..<laugh>

Its just nice to see the club take advantage of sales and branding, every penny counts!! S.Korean fans seem to like the merc. on offer from the Swans so long may that continue !

    Thoughts about this?

Bony, the difference is that we signed a quality player unlike the neighbours who got sub standard. Ki really is the dogs bollocks (pardon the pun)

As far as i know there arnt really any cardiff shirts sold in Malaysia, at least not in numbers that will make a difference. The key is the premier league coupled with signing a Korean superstar to play in our midfield. It will be making the club a bit of money and thats great to see!

Cardiff dont have the asian market until they make the premier league, its the only british league that gets watched out that part of the world ,another first for the swans :)

..Nope, and they would need to be premier league to tap into the cash.

Its just incredible how are club is moving so quickly, i still have to pinch myself that we are premier league and that Michael Laudrup is our manager...dreamland !!

Yes they do indeed, just think about little old Swansea city..looking like Madrid, playing like Barca..

And having the mighty Liverpool trying to steal our players and copy our style of play, i dont know which is the bigger compliment to us TBH ..<laugh>

They do say imitation is the biggest form of flattery dont they :)

Surely it's the fact that Real Madrid's kit is like the swans'?

And Liverpool are trying to become the Swansapoola of the North?

And Brendan spends all the time during a match writing little notes saying "I'm sorry Michael"

I was in Buenos Aires a week ago and the Korean National Youth team came into town and stayed at the hotel. I made a point of asking one of the coaches who they were and then mentioned Ki's name and indicated that I was from Swansea. He bowed slighty and shook my hand .... We are internationalizing the brand and Ki is a key component of that. It has nothing to do with our kit looking like anybody elses. Ki is a hero in Korea and he plays for us ... As he develops, his cult-like following back home will carry us along. 1000 shirts a week is just a trickle. We need to start a Korean language version of the club's web site.

Yes you have to be in the premiership to make any significant money...poor cardiff's attempt to have their own tv channel has been a flop.....they really need to emulate what we have achieved to make a difference.....
