Having read Nigel's comments about Pardew, I really wish he hadn't, and it could bite him on his backside. What do others think.
LInk? If it's what The Sun is reporting, they're to be expected. The paper attempts to draw some kind of comparison in the two manager's Saints (aka 'The South Coast Club) CV's by citing the JPT, I'm sure they generally really respects that trophy. Nigel didn't like the implied suggestion that everything he has achieved he owes to Pardew. He quite rightly pointed out that there are always players at a club when a new manager arrives and said that Rodgers must be pleased to have Gerrard. Do you think they would direct that kind of questioning at Benitez....no, because they would respect him as a manager. The persistent questioning was just to get quotes for the papers (as it proved). He was asked very few questions about the game...it was about Clattenburg (which he was happy to answer) and Hughes and Pardew.
I don't see anything wrong with what Adkins said. All I've heard is that he said he doesn't owe Pardew any gratitude. Quite right, he doesn't, what he's achieved he did himself.
Talking of manager's interviews, has anyone else noticed that Ferguson is becoming a real grumpy old man? Even more than usual. As I read once, not difficult to distinguish between a Scotsman with a grudge and a ray of sunshine.
Will make the next meeting extra interesting though. They will probably get each other in the FA Cup!
I suspect it was a big fine paid in instalments over 10 years because he would find it hard to manage it all at once.
The date says 2010 but I have no idea what he did to earn that fine. A yellow card? I am willing to bet that he earned a lot more than that last season for winning the title.
