He broke a bit of the statue off apparently. That'll be expensive.

The Police will close the road if a rare leaf blows across it and settles. They love closing roads. They also get every available police car on the scene and then can't respond for several hours when some poor sap gets burgled and the burglar is still on the premises. Am I cynical..?

Everyone's freaking out about how all the businesses on that road have lost thousands of pounds because of the road being closed. I'm not sure how they've reached that conclusion.

Oh yeah, in the new King's Cross building. It's not really between platforms 9 and 10, though I guess it's near them.

Well, I would imagine they have figures for a typical November Friday. They probably also have figures for the same Friday of last year, and of the same date. The detail of those figures can probably be narrowed down to the sales that could have been achieved during the very minutes that the road was closed - for a naked bloke on top of a statue.

If it was me I would have assigned one constable to the job with a nice line in empathic patter [of course, I know that'll be almost impossible] with a default mode that suggested to the naked guy that he could stay up there all day, if he wanted, but it might be better to come down before he got too cold. I may have even had an inadequate blanket thrown up to him. There's ways and means of achieving things without lights and sirens. The Police used to know how to do it, but they seem to have lost the knack.

At least 5 police cars, a fire engine and a policeman on a horse. What are they all achieving? I somehow doubt the naked bloke has a weapon stashed anywhere, he doesn't look dangerous, just cold.

So, TSS, where were you when we needed a credible Police Commisioner to vote for? You've got my vote for next time!

    Si.

Yeah I was looking in and around platforms 9 and 10 and couldn't see it, then I turned to my right and was like, oh there it is. Though actually there's no wall at all between platforms 9 and 10, it goes platform|track|track|platform. Not sure if it was like that back in the 90s when the books are set.

Don't get too excited Joe, Sandals is just a holiday company. Unfortunately not an occasion to add another pair of sandals to your favourite footwear collection.
