I was speaking to a Chelsea suporting mate of mine last nght and he said he was really beginning to get sick of football. Obviously his club's signing of Benitez bought most of this on but he mentioned dthe various race cases, the cheating, managers getting sacked a the drop of a hat and very average players earning more in a week than most of us earn in a year. As a Watford fan I'm happier but must admit to getting a bit fed up of the whole thing as it really doesn't seem to be the same game that I grew up watching. The sack race is one of my biggest bugbears but I think the 24 hour coverage now provided by Sky is another factor as they have to create non stories to fill the air time. Oh and I also hate the way that defenders now appear to not to be allowed to tackle. So - is anyone else falling out of love with the game at the moment?
Some of the referee **** going on down south is terrible. How could it have taken 3 weeks to figure out what was said between 3 people? total joke. If it makes you feel any better the SFA are a bunch of incompetent arseholes that really shouldn't be in charge of anything bigger than special needs day trips.
Know what you mean. Look at Rangers. Brought down by a hand full of chancers who probably haven't kicked a ball in their lives. Who suffers? Billy Soap who has poured money he barely has into a sport he loves.
Scotland will be better for it now No more spending wars on **** players Youth is getting a chance both in the very top and very bottom leagues
ive never been on that forum in my life, yet they all think im a chelsea fan i thought SW6 might have outed me but he never
I think we have far far too much football. Monday night games, then there's European games Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then back to the weekend fixtures. Repeat for 8 or 9 months. And Sky Sports News are just as responsible. They've taken all the fun out of football, constantly covering stories that are really non starters. From the start of December they'll have a clock countdown for when the January transfer window opens, an then immediately have one for when it's closing. It's relentless, and they talk to us if we're ****ing idiots that need things explaining like children. YouTube Clough's interview with Motson. It's still relevant today.
I miss the league tables in Shoot! Christ, them were the days. Och I'll just pretend Aberdeen won and they can move up to 3rd. Always been a devious **** even at 7.

Not actually ready to give up on football yet. The EPL can kiss my arse though. The Championship is a far better league, more competitive, less delicate little flowers collapsing in mock agony, genuine supporters, and a lot of the football's not bad either. Of course, the Premiership may grow on me if Saints go on a decent run, but on balance the "match day experience" is both poorer and more expensive in the top flight. And if I ever find the person who came up with the phrase "match day experience" I will put his head in a vice.
I don't watch any other games except Newcastle United now... I used to love watching football, but you can just tell that most players couldn't give a ****. It's all about making as much money as you can. No pride or passion for the club or fans... just how many zero's your agent can get added to your salary.
The recent appointment of Rafa Benitez has spiced things up a bit Given his glorious track record I expect positive results and want him to staaaaay as long as possible
