How many wide players have a better ratio than a goal every 235 minutes, like Sturridge did when played regularly last season? How many wide players score 10+ goals in a season like Sturridge did last season? Because its wide players we are likely to sign in January and Sturridge & Walcott's records as wide players are very good in terms of goals (& assists in Walcott's case). please log in to view this image And if you look at this table I have copied off a Chelsea website it shows that 9 of Sturridge's 13 goals were "game changing goals" which obviously shows that his record isn't padded out by pointless goals in 5-0 games like say Berbatov @ man utd
The really big problem with Sturridge is his attitude. You do not know from one game to the next which player is going to turn up! Don't just take my word for it just have a breeze through last season's archieve of the Chelsea board. If there's one thing that Rodgers will not accept is inconsistancy. I also agree with Noblelox about the other 2.
Although I tend to agree with you on this subject, that bit is a little on the harsh side considering he's only been at the club four months and spent two months (?) on the treatment table
I ****ing hate that phrase Of course we can! Why spend money on something that isn't right...? Wait until the right option is available. The only way that phrase applies is if our backs are firmly pushed against the wall and relegation is a serious threat, which it isn't! We should always have a decision to make when it comes to signing players!
Walcott would be an improvement on what Liverpool have at the moment, he is better than all your wingers and borini. Can't understand why you wouldn't want him and he shouldn't be that expensive to buy although he would be on big wages.
So important he is on the bench most of the time and apparently 'played out of position' He has got better this seaosn but I think that is more to do with him playing for a contract, whether that is at Arsenal or not
Ask Aresnal fans or look on there board and you'll see how important he is for them. They play much worse without him. It's amazing that you would turn your nose up at him, Liverpool at the minute won't be able to get much better.
Most Arsenal fans don't want him! Especially at £100k per week too As I said, he has gotten better this season but I think he is playing for a contract. Once he agrees a deal he will decline again until the next deal is coming to a close I have said I don't want him all along (even put my left testicle on the line ) but his recent form has impressed me!
He's played there but so did Dirk Kuyt, would you call him a winger End of the day, I don't rate him and you do and that's what makes football great, opinions. If we did sign him then I would give him 100% support and I would hope to eventually hold my hands up and admit I am wrong, but I'm certainly not going to 'fall in line' because he has bagged a few in the early stages in the season
Yes, if they play on the wing then they are a winger lol You still haven't named a better player that Liverpool could sign.
Disagree. I wouldn't call David Beckham a winger despite him curving a very good career out of playing out wide right, I'd call him a right midfielder. Bit like I wouldn't call Bergkamp a striker despite playing upfront, he was a forward. I think there are differences TBH, I was a little hasty to say Walcott isn't a winger, I was merely pointing out that he doesn't want to be one He is a right sided forward / winger and is actually the type of player we need. I just don't think he is good enough. If he is playing on instinct he is very good, it is when he has time to think that is the issue. He is naturally a good player but his head is the problem IMO. Again with Sturridge, he is the right type of player (can play up top or from a wider position) but I don't want him because of the way he plays. However, I am more flexible with this one because the thing that annoys with him can be trained out of him - velcro boots! Out of the two I would rather have Sturridge but I don't want either. To answer your question, I don't know. There isn't any realistic and good enough options in England IMO and I don't watch foreign games. However, I have seen enough of Theo and Daniel to be able to hold an opinion
Surely that's going to be a highly subjective argument? As I could, as an example say "X player is available & better, so is Y player" and you'd reply "X player isn't available & Y player isn't better"
